The alchemist was currently making a new compound, mixing and boiling chemicals with familiar ease. As he finished his first half of his first work, bickering was heard from outside of his tent. He put down the vial he was holding and walked out, curious of the commotion outside his abode.
As he peaked out from his tent, he saw Yong and Hugo running around. Yong held out something he could observe was a wanted poster but the person in it was not too visible as the bayangorian waved it around frantically.
Hugo was trying to snatch it out from the child’s grasp while miserably failing in doing so.
`what’s going on here?’ The alchemist questioned as he stepped out from his tent.
`Hugo has a crush!’ The bayangorian child said excitingly, shoving the wanted poster into varians face.
As varian pulled away to take a good look of the wanted poster, he stood still as he recognized the person in the wanted poster.
His wanted poster.
He wanted to rip down every single poster of himself. That wretched thing was taunting and mocking him. Those cold eyes stared down his soul, as if it wanted him remember his twisted past. He’s stomach churned into knots as he recognized himself in the poster.
the shame.
the guilt.
It ate him alive.
The bandana and bangs covering half of his face, Only making those cold eyes visible.
He despised every single detail and the poster itself.
Varian snapped out of his trance as Hugo snatched the poster from the child’s hands, clutching it closely to his chest.
`it’s not a crush! It’s simply an idol’ the thief huffed in annoyance as the child rolled his eyes not believing the ingvarrian’s words.
`what’s going on here?’ The princess questioned the trio
`Hugo has a crush!’ The child exclaimed
`it’s not a crush for the last time! It’s an idol!’ He defended himself
`mind showing me who this so called crush is?’ The princess said, crossing her arms
The thief cleared his throat as he pulled up the poster, confidently pointing at the person
`this is the most feared alchemist across all of the 7 kingdoms! This is the alchemist of old corona!At the age of 14-15 he brought corona to his knees! All living things feared him, he reverse engineered ancient and old automatons that only the brightest minds can make and achieve! A badass guy really, he attempted regicide, treason, and everything you could never imagine! He’s no ordinary criminal, he’s literally demanitus reincarnated but with a bad bone in his body!’
Hugo kept rambling about how high and mighty this alchemist of old corona was, his hands animated as he talked. Nuru noticed the certain silence of the blue-streaked alchemist.
`you alright there var?’ the princess questioned the boy as he hung his head low
`pfft, he’s probably jealous that he isn’t as cool as this alchemist’ Hugo joked but no one laughed
`he was a jerk.’ he blurted out, his eyes not meeting their gaze.
`A stupid jerk who cared for nothing but himself.’ Varian said coldly as he walked back to his tent, avoiding the stares of his team.
As varian disappeared into his tent, Hugo nuru and Yong were left to question his odd behavior
`what’s his problem?’ The thief scoffed at his behavior
`you don’t know Hugo, he might’ve been affected by the alchemists rein before. Afterall, he is from old corona’ nuru said, her voice filled with concern.
The weird behavior of their leader was bad enough to know he despised the person.
`he’s probably just like the other people who hate criminals cause they are criminals, he is a 'royal' alchemist afterall’
`let’s just give him some space for now, we’ll talk about it later when he’s ready’
