Chapter Text
A yellowed-haired cat girl woke up.
She went out of her bed and looked at her roommate.
The nonbinary Healer apprentice was deep in sleep.
She knew she would not get this chance again, so she got dressed and left the room.
But she did not notice her roommates ear twitch.
When she left the room, she made sure to move silently.
She did not want to alert anyone to where she was going.
At last, she left the border of Mist Kingdom territory.
With every step she took she felt freer than ever.
The night was dark, but she did not care about that.
She ran the rest of the way to the edge of the mainland.
She stopped when she reached the water that separated the mainland to Snow Kingdom.
The yellow haired apprentice smiled as she took in the environment.
The cold sharp wind on her blond hair, The smell of the salty water.
Looking at the water she wanted to paddle towards the island and see the Kingdom.
But she could not.
The young apprentice cared too much about her home.
She saw the Snow Kingdom apprentices play in the water from time to time.
But she knew they must be asleep by now.
The clear, deep, and welcoming water tempted the young apprentice.
As she was about to step into the water, she heard footsteps running towards her.
She stopped what she was doing and turned around.
It was her black-haired roommate!
Pin: What are you doing?
Her roommate asked, but the young warrior apprentice could not answer.
Pin: Is something wrong Bridgette?
Bridgette faked a smile not wanting her friends to be worried about her.
Bridgette: Of course, I am! Why wouldn't I be all right Pin?
Pins black ears twitched and they tried to get a read on Bridgette.
But they gave up with a heavy sigh.
Pin: What are you doing here anyways?
Bridgette: I was just doing a patrol!.What are you doing here Pin?
The young Healer smiled.
Pin: I saw you leave the room. I went out with you to cheek on you, you left the Kingdom!
For a moment they did not say anything.
The quiet was peaceful for both of them.
Pin looked at the water and seemed sad.
Pin: We should head back!
Bridgette nodded but did not move.
Pin: Do you want to come with me?
Pin asked not wanting to leave Bridgette by herself.
The yellow haired apprentice looked at the water and saw a fish swimming around.
She smiled and turned to face her roommate.
Bridgette: No thanks! I will not stay too long!
Pin seemed unsure but they left to go back inside the inner Kingdom.
When Bridgette was sure that Pin had left, she stepped into the water.
It was cold and she was having trouble keeping afloat.
But she spotted the fish, and she knew what she had to do.
Bridgette woke up in her bed.
She cheeked if Pin was there and they were.
She had the dream again!
It seems like she got the same dream every night for a while now!
It was always the same.
She snuck out of camp, looked at Snow Kingdom and gets caught by Pin!
But she always woke up before she could get the fish!
The young apprentice seemed disappointed, but she knew she had to get up.
She got dressed before Pin woke up and brushed her hair.
Pin woke up and got ready quicky before leaving to go to the medicine bay.
They did not even say anything to her!
It always seemed like Pin was rushing lately.
Bridgette got herself something to eat and left to train.
She found her mentor and ran up to her.
But she stopped running when she saw that her mentor was talking to Eva and Alice.
When her brown-haired mentor noticed her, she motioned her to come to them.
Bridgette: I can come back another time if you want!
Macarthur: It is fine! This is for you anyways!
Bridgette noticed that Alice was hiding behind her mentor.
Eva: You two might want to follow us!
The two mentors started to walk.
Alice: Where are we going Macarthur?
Macarthur: You two are going to a new area in the Kingdom!
Is all that Macarthur explained and Bridgette was getting impatient.
They finally made it too an arena sort of place and they went inside.
Eva: Welcome! This is the Battle Room!
BATTLE ROOM!?
Bridgette wanted to leave but she knew that would disappoint her mentor.
Macarthur: This is where the members of Mist Kingdom train for fights!
Alice: Do the other Kingdoms have these?
Eva: Good question Alice! Yes! But they have different fighting styles and types of rooms!
Bridgette knew where this was going, and she wanted to sneak out of the room before the Inevitable happened.
She turned to face Alice and she did not look so happy anymore either.
Macarthur: We know that you two might have trouble with this! Which is why we are choosing you two from your apprentice group to fight!
This made sense.
They would have to pick the apprentices from the same group which only left four others.
They were made apprentices at the same time.
Pin is a Healer which means they would not be doing this.
Which then leaves three others.
Gwen and Izzy had no problems with fighting and did not have the moral panic.
Which leave Alice who is also kind like Bridgette.
Macarthur: We want you to shift into your cat forms to battle however!
Macarthur: Oh, it is because you need to learn to shift back and forward while in the heat of battle!
They both turned into cats and looked at each other.
They both did not want to make the starting move.
They just circled each other.
After a while of this the two mentors seemed annoyed.
Eva: Make a move already!
Alice hissed and ran towards Bridgette.
Before Bridgette had the chance to run away, she pinned the yellow haired apprentice onto the ground.
She was about to swipe at Bridgette, but she used her back legs to kick Alice in the stomach.
Alice yowled in pain and Bridgette pushed Alice off her.
Bridgette swiped at Alice and nicked her tail.
Alice snarled and the two apprentices started to chase after each other.
Finally, Bridgette jumped onto Alice and hit her on the head.
Alice bit Bridgette and she got free from the yellow furred apprentices hold.
The fight was getting more intense, and the two mentors had to step in and stop them.
Macarthur: Alright you two! You both proved that you could fight!
Bridgette and Alice felt sore, and they wanted to fall onto the ground.
Alice: I am sorry Bridgette!
Alice apologized and Bridgette weakly smiled.
Bridgette: It is fine! I am sorry as well!
They walked up to each other and nuzzled.
Maybe the battle was not so bad?
Bridgette and Alice got their clothes back and they shifted back.
They got dressed and they saw their mentors were already starting to leave.
The pair giggled and ran after their mentors.
They ran past the Medicine Bay and Pin walked outside.
When they saw the wounds of the apprentices' bodies, they ran over to them.
Pin: What happened to you two!? Are you two alright!?
Alice: Yeah! We were just battle training!
Pin had no choice but to believe this and they sighed.
Pin: As long as you two are fine!
