A Book Of Medicine In The Hands Of A Witch

Summary:

The sun rose up awakening the people of the atelier in the open land, a new day of studying it seemed for Coco, she reached for the nearest book and started the first page. Coco’s eyes widened at the contents. A book of medicine, witches can’t learn about medicine at all. She already read a lot of pages. How hadn’t she noticed? The knight's morealis will surely wipe her memories away; she'll never even know the great passion she had. Making a plan she packed away her things for the night and stepped into the room of where the windowway is, the gears twisted and turned and as Coco took her hand away the destination appeared right in front of her. The Tower Of Tomes

Chapter 1: New Book On The Desk

Chapter Text

The eyeball brim hat crept around the atelier in the midst of the night watching the study room of his blooming seed, a small windowway appeared under the book of the signs and usages of them, dropping into his hands. The windowway was dispersed as the Brimmed hat tore the piece of paper and drew a new seal, the signs pointing toward the position of where the book of signs were, A book toppled on the desk the appearance of it was exactly the same as the book in his hands now now…. He should hurry now the sun is rising.

Forcing herself to go through the day Coco hid the book away and actually started to study,

“Coco! Agott! Time to eat dinner!!!” Tetia slammed open the door shaking the girls who WERE studying back into reality, they both hastily stood up walking towards the dining area.

“Coco. You look a bit pale. Are you ok?” Richeh blandly said while observing her.

“Me?! I’m fine really!” Coco replied quickly, shoving a spoon into her mouth. “Excuse me, I’ll go take a bath! I wanna sleep early today!” She stood up where she was sitting, ignoring the looks of confusion from her mentors and moved up to her room grabbing her sleeping clothes.

Coco stepped into the tub, the water warm against her skin, she sank into the tub staring up at the ceiling. “What will I do now?...” Coco mumbled, closing her eyes to think of a plan. Visualisations came to life in her head of herself packing up her stuff and escaping somehow.

She sighed, it was her only plan for now. She just had to stay up long enough for everyone in the atelier to be asleep and not to wake anyone, should be easy enough… Coco slid on her clothes draining the tub for the next person to use, the walk back was kinda weird… The others were still eating even Agott did she really eat that fast?

Coco slowly stepped up the stairs to her quarters there she laid unmoving, but if she was this bored then she could read the book, I mean she’s leaving later anyways…

She flipped a few pages over to a page Coco hadn’t read, the contents were somewhat confusing from her lack of exposure to such medicinal items. Oh look there’s some flowers in here that she recognised from master Qifrey’s garden! There’s the flower that turned pink then to white which was called ‘Morning Glory’, it kind of makes sense the flower was a pure white in the morning then changed to a vibrant pink.

“Wow… There’s so much we hadn’t learned in the field of medicine! Oops… I don’t think I should be loud…” Coco enthusiastically mentioned, checking the night sky from her window of her quarters. The moon was high above and she could hear no chatter from the dining room, she can leave now…

Did she actually want to leave though? NO SHE HAD TO!!! It’s for the better for everyone else in the atelier… And call her greedy but she also wanted to keep learning magic without her memories erased.

Coco grabbed her witch attire and threw a coat around it keeping her hat inside an inner pocket she sewed on to keep things inside. Knowing there wasn’t going to be enough space to stuff the spell books in, she also kept a sack with her. There were things Coco couldn’t get rid of, her passion for magic, her curiosity and the lessons engraved in her mind of her mother.

Coco didn’t bother taking a lamp with her as it would create unwanted attention, she walked slowly outside of her quarters into the study room, luckily Agott wasn’t there as many would think of spells to create in the midst of the boredom of a bare bones quarter and would immediately try and recreate it in real life.

Stuffing more books into her sack her desk was slowly looking more empty… She supposes as this chapter of her life learning magic with the others in the atelier was officially over. A soaking wet substance flooded Coco’s eyes, drooping down her face as she hurriedly wiped it off.

She took a good supply of ink and other tools she may need for her journey, however Richeh’s guidance ring may be a problem… She could sneak into the room and steal it! Perfect improv Coco! Leaving her sack under her desk, Coco tiptoed outside of the studying room hastily moving across the atelier and opening the other girl’s room. Now if she was Richeh where would she keep the ring?...

Watching a glint of metal flash off from the moonlight, Coco rushed over to the spot and grabbed it off a sponge? Knowing that she may forget them herself she took the other’s rings as well. It wasn’t her problem to judge where people kept their rings so she left it be. Sliding across the floor Coco opened the studying room one final time taking in all the memories that took place in the room.

She threw the sack over her shoulder, hunching over a bit by the weight and walked over to the room where the windowway is. The door opened as she twisted the doorknob, Coco grabbed the handles and turned each of the gears. Something small moved across the floor scaring Coco to death. (Brushbuddy…)

“You can’t come with me, I'm sorry…” She muttered softly to the small buddy. Who sadly understood and shuffled away to another place that most likely had conjuring ink.

The gears twisted and turned and as Coco took her hand away from the last handle…The destination appeared right in front of her. The Tower Of Tomes, A tower surrounded by a vile water beast and strong currants of water.

She stepped into the land unknown as the windowway closed behind her. There’s nothing else to do but just move forward, Coco walked across the path towards the forest hoping the dragon wouldn’t see her.

Turning a corner, she heard a voice coming from behind her so she hid herself below some very tall rocks. Noticing the witch hat on top of said person’s head, her eyes perked up, (If they’re a witch they would know how to use a windowway right… and since the windowway is a 2-way portal contraption I can use their windowway!)

The witch flew away towards the tower and Coco used the opportunity to run and jump into the portal. The layout was weird at most… A house that looked worse for wear with dirt and grime everywhere and was built with hay? She ran outside of the house looking up at the sta- WAIT NO IT WAS SUNNY?!

“Wait what! It was midnight when I used the windowway… Did I transport myself to the other side of the world?!” Coco sputtered, the outfits were weird too… long robes and almost no dresses at sight. (I wish I studied geo…geographs?) She sighed aloud, knowing she didn’t regret her decision of hiding her witch hat.

“Miss… You seem lost, are you alright?” A man with a monocle questioned her.

“Kinda…” Coco responded, staring at the weird attire the man used.

“Come follow me~” Coco knew she shouldn’t trust strangers but this was her opportunity to know where she was!
