Jiang Cheng heaved Liu Qingge onto the bed before shutting the door. “You really…” he sighed and shook his head, removing his jacket before tossing it at a random chair. When he turned back around, Liu Qingge was still in the same position, sprawled across the bedding and pupils wide at him.
“What?”
Liu Qingge didn’t respond, eyes still preoccupied with Jiang Cheng’s face.
Jiang Cheng huffed. “Should’ve known not to let you drink from college kids.”
He opened his mouth, revealing sharp canines and swiped the meat of his thumb across one, unflinching as blood welled up in beads.
Liu Qingge’s gaze had dripped down the line of Jiang Cheng’s figure by the time his chin was tilted upwards in a single motion. Only then did he close his eyes.
Jiang Cheng’s breath puffed. “Open up.”
Liu Qingge’s lips parted on command, and Jiang Cheng offered his bleeding extremity, purposely smearing the edge of Liu Qingge’s bottom lip before slipping it past his teeth. His husband’s jaw fell shut, and he obediently sucked on Jiang Cheng’s thumb, body visibly sagging into the mattress.
Jiang Cheng sneered.
“Didn’t I tell you? You only drink from me.”
“’m sorry,” Liu Qingge mumbled around him. His slurred speech thawed the ice called Jiang Cheng’s heart, however, and against his will, Jiang Cheng faltered.
He let out an exasperated scoff in an attempt to save face and pulled his hand away, but any scolding words died on the tongue in the presence of Liu Qingge’s vulnerably cute face, especially when Liu Qingge chased his hand with his mouth in an obviously drunk lurching motion, swaying as his eyes reopened and looked at Jiang Cheng’s thumb in confusion. So much want in those steel eyes of his.
“Look at you… What were you even doing out there?”
“… miss you.”
In an instant, the devastating words cut through Jiang Cheng like a blade, searing deep into his chest and igniting the air in his lungs. It burned, and Jiang Cheng clenched his fists, wishing that he had never asked instead. Their fight, from the moment it started to the minute Liu Qingge stormed out, flared forefront in his mind, almost as if no time had passed at all.
“You-you—don’t you dare say that to me.”
“You are my husband. I have a duty—”
“LIU QINGGE. Is that all I am to you? DUTY?”
The look Liu Qingge gave him was almost pitiful if not full of sorrow, hair half falling out of his ponytail and dishevelled clothes giving away what he’d been doing in the last 30 minutes. He looked like a small animal despite his usually commanding frame, and a part of Jiang Cheng yearned for his husband while the other part of him was impassive, somehow already having known that everyone in his life would eventually choose someone over him.
When Liu Qingge declined to respond, still staring at Jiang Cheng with those soulful grey eyes of his, Jiang Cheng felt his impatience snap, and he turned away, snatching his jacket as he stormed out.
“Fine. If you still don’t want to apologize, then go back out there and feed irresponsibly. See if I care.”
But before his hand could close around the doorknob, a hand leaned on the door above him, and Liu Qingge’s presence enclosed around him.
“A-Cheng…”
Liu Qingge’s whispered sigh gusted over Jiang Cheng’s nape, stirring the baby hairs there and tightening the knot in Jiang Cheng’s gut. He felt silly and utterly pathetic, about to cry over just a single utterance of his name, but this was Liu Qingge, his husband of 1584 years, who’d stayed with him through the centuries and millennia and always knew the right ways to make him stay.
“What,” he managed to grit out, voice not wobbling.
“‘m sorry.”
“Sorry for what?”
This was their classic song and dance. They would fight, Liu Qingge would apologize, and Jiang Cheng would forgive him as easily as the river flowed into the ocean.
“Mm,” alcohol seemed to have taken over Liu Qingge’s rationale. Even after many lifetimes, the man was still a lightweight, and Jiang Cheng would’ve berated him much more severely if the following words didn’t melt his anger into trembling desire. “Mm, you smell so good.”
Jiang Cheng let out a shaky breath. This was his fault. He shouldn’t have fed Liu Qingge his blood before getting a proper apology out of him, and now he was trapped in a room with a vampire who liked the taste of his veins. Well, two can play at that game.
“Oh yeah? Well, you smell like shit.”
Like the scent of many others coursing through his system, heavy with sweat that was not his. Jiang Cheng hated it. He loved it. He revelled in the fact that Liu Qingge had brought him dessert served on a platter as an apology. It was infuriating.
He attacked Liu Qingge; Jiang Cheng pounced on him with the expertise of their many play fights and the intimacy of a feast gone wild. Liu Qingge went down without so much as a complaint, and he had the audacity to preen when Jiang Cheng protected his head as he went down, teeth already closing around his neck with a vicious bite.
“A-Cheng~” Liu Qingge moaned, reedy and loud the way he would never be if he were sober, and his twitching body and jumping pulse engorged Jiang Cheng’s tongue with a bloodbath like no other.
Jiang Cheng felt as if he had lost. The taste of Liu Qingge’s blood was exquisite, the flavours of so many enriching his taste buds, and filling him with a greed he not often indulged in. He hated it. That Liu Qingge knew which aromas to pick out, which blood type tasted the sweetest, and which bodies to take the right ratio of. This level of attention, this type of detail, even the liquor affecting Liu Qingge’s mind, was a nice malty touch, the type Jiang Cheng liked best when he drank that shit alone.
“Mm…”
Liu Qingge’s little noises of pleasure sparked heat into his veins, and he didn’t even gripe when Liu Qingge’s arms wrapped around him, holding him close and filling every one of his senses with Liu Qingge, Liu Qingge, and Liu Qingge.
Jiang Cheng growled. The man underneath him shuddered, and Jiang Cheng had to remind himself that no, he was mad, this was Liu Qingge’s punishment for pissing him off, he had no right to take pleasure in Jiang Cheng’s satisfaction…
Jiang Cheng bit Liu Qingge again to quell the harrowing thoughts.
“A-Cheng, A-Cheng…”
Gasps of his name were beginning to soften him, pliant and sweet and submissive. Jiang Cheng felt something like a monster, keeping his husband pinned down with no chance of escape, but he reminded himself that if Liu Qingge didn’t want this, he let it be clearly known, and wouldn’t be obviously touching himself—
“Hey!”
Jiang Cheng snatched Liu Qingge’s hand from his pants and glared down at him.
“Who said you could do that?!”
Liu Qingge’s hips bucked up, and Jiang Cheng cursed as the motion rattled his position on top. He inhaled when Liu Qingge dragged his hips over his fully, and he fought back a deep flush as he felt that thing poking him in the thigh.
He was unsuccessful. Liu Qingge noticed, of course, and he leaned up to lick the thrum of blood brimming under Jiang Cheng’s cheek. His mouth sloppily latched onto Jiang Cheng’s neck, a common spot for him to take a bite, but he didn’t. Instead, he just lazily suckled at the skin there until Jiang Cheng was panting and heaving in embarrassment.
“Liu. Qing. Ge!”
Jiang Cheng craned away from the onslaught, but doing so left him tumbling to the floor. All his escape did was encourage the other vampire to gaze down at him with hazy eyes, half-lidded in clear interest as he took in the sight of Jiang Cheng’s debauched appearance and palmed himself slowly over his pants again.
“You—”
They came back together in a rough embrace, rolling across the floor; one grappling for dominance while the other matched the energy eagerly. Jiang Cheng found himself underneath Liu Qingge, who was difficult to win in a show of strength, but then on top after enclosing his teeth around Liu Qingge’s collarbones, who had always been weak to Jiang Cheng’s fangs.
As Jiang Cheng noisily sucked on Liu Qingge’s blood once more, licking his lips, he felt Liu Qingge grab ahold of his hips and grind their lower halves together. This time, he didn’t object, unable to as he moaned from the sparks flying up his spine and the heat flaring in his core. He felt Liu Qingge’s hands tighten at his response, and had to muffle his noises into Liu Qingge’s neck as he was coaxed to moan even louder with another aggressive buck.
He could feel blood travelling down south as he instinctively met his husband’s lust, planting his knees on either side of Liu Qingge’s hips and using the leverage to grind back. It felt good, to take and give back, the ebb and flow of their millennia-long marriage, and the push and shove of their past frustration.
Liu Qingge groaned loudly, and he tucked his hands under Jiang Cheng’s thighs to encourage him to do it again, rocking them into a motion that forced Jiang Cheng to brace his hands on either side of Liu Qingge’s head for balance.
“Fuck.” Jiang Cheng dropped his head low, panting.
His nerves felt alighted, belly full of Liu Qingge’s blood, and mind descending into a haze at how Liu Qingge pawed at him. He bit, not even to drink, but to mark his claim as Liu Qingge whined and offered up more surfaces of his neck to Jiang Cheng.
Their noises grew louder, their desire grew heavy. Their impatience ran out, and soon, each was fumbling for the other’s pants to draw out each other’s cocks, engorged and dripping, spilling into the palms of their husband.
“Qingge!” Jiang Cheng cried out as his hips stuttered and he released in weak, shaky spurts, unable to contain his love as Liu Qingge did the same.
Their mouths crashed into each other’s, forceful and violent, as blood dripped between their teeth and as Liu Qingge noisily sucked on Jiang Cheng’s tongue, Jiang Cheng collapsed, sinking his entire weight on top of Liu Qingge’s.
When they broke apart, each was panting hard. Jiang Cheng didn’t object as Liu Qingge gravitated towards his neck, offering up his veins and practically asking to be fed from.
“Idiot. I wasn’t even gone long enough for you to miss me.”
But his words fell on deaf ears, and as pleasure seeped into his thoughts from Liu Qingge, who drank his fill, he could only think about how he couldn’t seem to remember the reason for their fight and how, in the span of a few hours, he really missed Liu Qingge too.
