Work Text:
Booster watches the protests on TV. For a brief moment he thinks, is this where it all started? He knows that it isn’t, though. Protests have been going on forever, whether for good or wrong. Booster just happened to be born in a place where protests were almost always violent.
Everyone thought Gotham was safe for a while, ever since the rich were brought down a notch, but soon even the streets were shouting about preventing facism. The rich grew power again, and then the city was seemingly abruptly split into two again. Even as Booster looks back at the past here, rent for those in Gotham is low. Those who are poor and in need flock here, so the rich did as well in order to establish a dominance. Hell, the rich didn’t even have to do a thing as the criminals did it for them. Everyone on the ground fought one another, but at least there’s a little more hope in Booster’s future with everyone actually coming together and the majority of would-be-criminals having been prevented; well, every criminal except for Booster, apparently.
It doesn’t matter, though. Not right now when Booster’s leaning against Ted and he feels content in a way that he used to never believe that he would. Then there’s Guy, but the only reason he’s here is to steal Ted’s Captain Crunch peanut butter cereal that Booster can’t help but crinkle his nose at every time he walks past it.
Booster stands up with a stretch, proceeding to grab his jacket-despite it being May, it’s cold as Hell-and tells Ted and Guy, “I’m going out for groceries!” Normally, he hates the chore, or anything he deems a chore for that matter, but today he’s feeling good about himself.
Guy stops him by remarking, “And you’re wearing the suit again. What’s your deal with that thing?”
“I like looking fancy!”
“What you like is wearing clothes that haven’t been washed in ten days!”
“I washed it last night, you-!”
Ted stands up, putting his arms out as he cuts in, “Alright, we get it. I’ll go with Booster. I’ll get the groceries and he can…do his ‘pose-thing.’”
Booster brags, “You mean look stunning?”
“Something like that.”
Ted smoothly puts on his jacket, then exits the apartment with Booter. Guy merely shrugs and turns back to his cereal.
As Booster walks beside Ted, he suddenly begins feeling energetic. He decides to float around Ted as says, “There has to be something that we can do today. Like, maybe there’s a robot group or something that we can scrap parts from!” Ted smiles.
“I thought you didn’t want to do anything today?”
Booster tries to clarify, “Not at first, but now I’m thinking that-” Suddenly, the booster looks up, his eyes now wide, and says, “Woah.” Ted’s eyebrows furrow in confusion as he follows Booster’s gaze. Above the two of them, high in the sky, is a group of five people floating above. They carefully descent and one of them smiles down at the two men.
“Michael Carter, yes?” a woman with grey hair asks. She looks kind enough, but ever since Max, Ted has learned that looks can be extremely deceiving. Ted’s stance slightly shifts to one prepared to guard off any attacks, which the woman noticed and takes note of.
Micheal floats up a slight ways, though makes sure to keep his distance. “If you’re here to try attacking me or something then I must say that you are not off to a great start,” Booster tells them with a pointing of his finger and an unimpressed expression. Ted, visibly cautious, warns the man with a quiet hiss, “Booster.” Fortunately, the man that’s closest to Booster and at the very front of the group raises one of his hands with a calm expression and speaks, “We aren’t stupid. Why would we even attack you?”
Booster begins listing off reasons, including, “maybe I messed up the time stram and didn’t resize,” but he is shut up when Ted sharply hits him. Booster lets out an, “Ow!” in complaint. Fortunately, the man doesn’t seem bothered. In fact, he smiles.
“We’re time travelers, too, but we travel under direct orders, hence the uniforms, “the man explains. He holds out his hand for Booster, which Booster is hesitant to take, but he does decide to shake it. The man goes on, “Look, I know we have sort of interrupted you, but we wanted to meet you. It’s not everyday you meet someone from the past who’s in the even further past.”
“Wait…you’re from the future? I mean, not my future, but the other future??”
“We were all born after 2500. We don’t know much about you, but we think you’re from, uh…”
‘The 2400s!”
“Well, that’s-”
The man lets out a surprised grunt when Booster excitedly hugs him. Ted, still wary but a tad less cautious, tells the man, “He gets really excited when it comes to anything time related.” The man hesitates, then pats Booster’s back. He lets Booster know, “My name is Xesper (zuh-X-purr). I know that the 2400s had this whole retro movement with names and everything, but our names are a bit different. Well, except Selena back there. Some names didn’t die out, but they did change meaning.”
Booster lets go of the man, clearly ecstatic. He questions, “Does public transport further like they said it would? Does the insane wealth gap stop? Is there a World War Four?”
Ted cuts in, “What do you mean ‘World War Four’? There’s a World War Three??”
Neither of them respond to Ted. Instead, Xesper answers Booster’s questions, “Yes, the gap doesn’t stop but it does get massively smaller, and no, not yet.” Booster genuinely does try playing it cool, clearing his throat and shaking the man’s hand again.
“It’s, uh, nice to meet you, Sir,” Booster tells the man, who lets out a snort before apologizing, "I didn’t mean to do that, it’s just so odd seeing someone like you.”
Ted cuts in, “I’ll call Guy.” Thankfully, the man, Xesper, doesn’t seem bothered by this and Booster appears happy to have another friend come along. However, Ted simply wants back up in case things go south.
Xesper suddenly flies upward with a grin. “I thought you could fly,” he playfully taunts, knowing very well that Booster can’t. Booster asks him with wide eyes, “Can you guys do that naturally? I assume not…right?”
“We cannot, but you know those enhancements they gave you through nanobots? We have similar ones. We got genetically engineered before the governments came together and described it as ‘unethical.’ This lawsuit kickstarted it.”
Xesper waves a dismissive hand with a slight scowl on his face revealing how he feels about the matter. Booster begins to ask another question but one of the women hold one of her hands out and interrupts him by asking, “Can we talk about this later? It’s a lot to think about right now.”
Booster responds, “Yes! Of course!”
“Good. We won’t stay here long because we don’t want to interfere with anything. Not sure many heroes would like it.”
Xesper finishes, “We just wanted to say hello. We might come back, we might not. Thank you for the moment.” Booster wants to tell them to wait, but he understands. He salutes them with two fingers and then they’re gone. Booster awkwardly looks at the crowd around him. Ted is a ways away and pretending to blend in, so Booster chooses to not stare at him for too long.
.☘︎ ݁˚₊‧ʚ ⌛︎ ɞ‧₊˚ ݁☘︎.
“I can’t believe they’re not back!” Booster rants as he tosses Ted a box of screws that he requested from the store. He continues, “Am I not cool? I’m so cool!”
As Ted works on his project, he responds, “They just had other things to do. And, yes, you’re cool, otherwise I wouldn’t be here, right?” Booster smiles widely, proceeding to throw his arm around Ted.
“You’ve just earned yourself one donut.”
Booster turns to mess with the stuff on Ted’s desk as Ted informs him, “They’re our donuts and you didn’t even buy them, but I’ll say thank you anyway because I feel like you aren’t listening to what I’m saying.” Booster turns back around to face Ted suddenly as though the man has only now said something.
“What was that? I wasn’t listening.”
Ted simply says, “I know.” Then, he turns back to his work. Booster decides to head into he and Ted’s living room where he then sits down on the couch cross legged and attempts to solve one of those puzzles that Ted bought, but it’s a complex one and he’s never been able to solve one without help. At least he got a little farther last week, but now it feels as though he’s back at square one.
Suddenly, Booster feels this unexplainable sensation in his mind. He looks up and standing directly in front of him is Xesper. Booster’s pupils shrink as if hit by a light, but he doesn’t say a word. It’s as though he’s just there and nothing more.
Xesper’s face changes to a familiar one, but it’s blurry to Booster and he can’t completely make it out. Booster reaches his hand forward slowly, but Xesper tightly catches it, squeezing his fingers, though not too painfully.
“Who’s in here with you?” Xesper asks with a head tilt. Booster does respond. Xesper turns around and whispers, “You can heighten his adrenaline, yes?”
The intended purpose of the nanobots was to keep people from dying, as everyone was scared of it. Booster’s father made a “big investment” in him and, despite the bots being intended for only rich people to use and his father barely having the money, he was given the implants. Not only do they make people be able to push through physical activity that is mentally taxing, it also causes people in severe pain or a traumatic situation to have heightened adrenaline. It’s like the old woman who lifted an entire car because a child was stuck underneath, or the man that beat a bear to death with a log because it threatened his son (both true stories, by the way).
Xesper puts his hands on Booster’s shoulders and whispers to the man, “I care for you, Booster. I do.” He then wipes some of Booster’s hair out of his face. Booster sort of processes what Xesper is telling him, but not completely.
When soft footsteps come by, Xesper places a kiss on Booster’s forehead, then leaves the man be. Booster blinks, then rubs at his eyes as he stands up with uneven footing. Ted glances around the corner, then when he sees that nobody is there he steps out. Ted asks with seriousness, “Who was that?”
Abruptly, Booster shouts and throws the nearest lamp directly at Ted’s head. Fortunately, Ted has trained his reflexes so well that they act on instinct and he dodges the lamp. Befuddled he speaks, “What- Booster?”
Booster, feeling pure rage, throws the entire fucking side table next. Confused, Ted shouts, “When did you get so strong?!” He can see this anger on Booster’s face that he hasn’t seen before. Then, Booster turns around and bolts out the door, his heart pounding.
.☘︎ ݁˚₊‧ʚ ⌛︎ ɞ‧₊˚ ݁☘︎.
Admittedly, Ted didn’t wanna do it: he didn’t want to call Clark, but he doesn’t trust Guy all that much when it comes to something as serious like this, especially when it’s about Booster.
Ted paces, thinking of what to say that could convince Clark to come. He tries thinking of what could be in it for Clark before thinking that the man wouldn’t be too petty, except that when he comes to Booster he’s suddenly not so sure that Clark will be as forgiving.
Ted walks into the Watchtower with his suit on, attempting to look confident, but crippling on the inside. He goes into the meeting room, where nobody currently is, and calls out, “Clark!” Superman almost immediately shows up, where he then tells Ted, “I was in the middle of a conversation.” Ted winces.
“I know, but this is important. Someone got visited by these people who I think messed with his brain and-”
“It was Michael, wasn’t it?”
“…Okay, yes, but besides the point. I don’t know how to fix him and I know that you've dealt with some brainwashing, right?”
Clark pauses to look at Ted, clearly considering it, but soon enough his face softens and he lets out a small, barely noticeable sigh. Ted smiles. He says, “Thank you, seriously.”
“What kind of person would I be if I let this go? I know how horrible brainwashing can be. But are you sure it’s that?”
“I mean, unless he spontaneously developed low blood sugar.”
Clark seems to understand, nodding. He floats partly off the ground and says, “Don’t worry. We’ll get Michael.”
Ted corrects him, “Booster.”
“Right. We’ll get ‘Booster.’”
Suddenly, the door loudly opens. “You thought I wouldn’t find out?” Guy demands while standing there in his official outfit. Ted looks up at the ceiling and mumbles, “Oh, brother.”
Guy goes on, “Booster’s my friend, too?”
“Is he? Because all you do is take our food.”
Ted and Guy glare at each other. They’re usually more tame, but when tensions are high they don’t tend to get along. Fortunately, Clark flies and puts himself between them. He keeps it professional, just like he’s always forced to do when Guy or Booster is in the room, and says, “I can think of a few good uses for both of you.”
.☘︎ ݁˚₊‧ʚ ⌛︎ ɞ‧₊˚ ݁☘︎ .
“Mom?” Booster asks, his eyes soft. He expected his father to be here, but not his mother. Although his mom wasn’t necessarily kind to him and was a pushover for his dad, he doesn’t hate her. After all, how can anyone acknowledge meanness at the same level of everyone else when they have abuse going on at home?
Xesper smiles. “Yes, I missed you, Booster,” he responds under the guise of being his family. Booster rushes forward and tightly hugs him. Xesper simply looks down, not moving, then lifts his hand and merely places it on Booster’s back. Xesper adds quietly, “I want this timeline. Okay?”
“But…But you’re not like Dad.”
“I know. This isn’t for any reason Dad would have. You’re safe with me.”
Booster smiles sweetly up at his mom. “You’re…nice,” he says like it's a foreign concept, which it sort of is. Yet, he can’t stop thinking of the good times they had together, even if they were mainly around when Booster was around six. Every other bad thought seems to drown out.
Micheal is gently pushed off and told to go to see what the others are planning. He hesitates for a long few seconds, but when Xesper’s face shifts, even slightly, he immediately leaves to go with the others. Right as Booster leaves, a man in the group named Clyd (pronounced as “Clyde”) rushes in. He tells Xesper, “You know that Green Lantern? He’s was flying around acting all odd.”
“We shouldn’t pursue.”
“Selena already did. I mean, what was there to do, let him wreck the place?”
“…Maybe. How did they get to the future?”
After capturing Booster, the team had made sure to go back to their timeline to better plan things out. If they want to conquer an entire timeline, especially one with the golden age of heroes, then they require more people and a plan. At least there’s around 25 super-powered guards inside the faculty they’ve chosen to run back to.
Clyd scoffs, then mutters, “Time sphere.” Xesper’s eyebrows furrow. He begins to ask how the Hell they acquired one of those when the door kicks open. Superman is nowhere to be seen, probably keeping the enhanced guards busy, while Ted stands directly in the doorway in a fighting stance. He demands, “Give me back my friend.” Xesper lets out a small snort. Simply, Xesper says, “No.”
In a smooth sweep, Ted pulls out his electric gun and fires it, which hits Clyd. Xesper rushes forward, dodging an energy blast as Ted once again fires the gun. When he reaches out to grab Ted while flying at him, Ted rolls under and out of the way. When Xesper turns around, anger on his face, Ted grabs him by his face. Electricity runs through his hands from the electric shock pads on his finger tips and into Xesper. The electricity caused Xesper to tense, then fall once Ted lets go. Unfortunately, from behind, Ted is caught in a chokehold. Ted tries to flip the man using his footing, but Clyd lips the two of them into the air, so instead Ted sharply elbows Clyd, which doesn’t cause much pain, but it does cause Clyd to loosen up just enough for Ted to force himself free. Xesper, who managed to stand up during Ted and Clyd’s fight, grips Ted by his jaw and slams him to the floor, causing Ted’s vision to blur. Ted aims his shock gun at Xesper, but he loses consciousness when a hard boot connects to his head.
To his credit, he isn’t out for very long at all. Unfortunately, he is out long enough for them to throw him in containment. Ted resists the urge to smile when he sees Booster. Defeating the two men wasn’t Ted’s goal, but hoping to see Booster was. Ted thinks back to Clark, wondering if the men are too strong and too many, but he’s sure that Clark will come up with some sort of solution.
Xesper watches Ted with a sharp look. Ted suddenly weakly smiles at Booster, whose eyes brighten. If he’s right, Booster’s still in his “throw myself at anyone who shows me kindness” phase, having not had any friends last for more than two years max. It’s part of why Booster’s so over the top sometimes.
Xesper ushers Booster out, which Booster listens to, except that on his way out he stays staring at Ted.
When Ted looks around, he can see a few other people from Booster’s time. He wonders if they’re brainwashed, too. Knowing Xesper and his group, it’s likely.
The door opens again and, as expected, there stands Booster, who flies over to Ted. He looks at Ted curiously, clearly not recognizing him, and it pains Ted internally.
Ted gets as close as he can to the clear blue layer that’s separating them. Ted proceeds to nervously ask, “How…How are you?” Booster tilts his head, looking curiously at Ted, then simply answers with an upbeat tone, “Good.”
“You’re happy.”
Michael looks more confused, but not bothered by the question as he answers, “I’m better than I have been in a long time, I think.”
“You think?”
“Why’re you asking?”
“No, I just…I wanted to ask how you are.”
Booster’s face eases up. Then, he laughs. He outright asks, “Are you trying to trick me?” Ted swallows a lump in his throat.
“Will you believe me if I say no?”
“Not really, but you look depressed, so I’m willing to hang around.”
Ted smiles and Booster’s face eases up once again. They go quiet for a while, which makes Booster get to thinking. “Being nice to you doesn’t hurt,” he whispers. Ted feels glad that he’s getting through to Booster, upset that Booster’s gone through such things, and anger at both Xesper and Booster’s parents. Ted replies, “It’s not supposed to.”
“I don’t know about that, but you seem smart!”
“Smart enough to know that I should probably take off the metal sheeting on the wall and get into the wires.”
“Why won’t you?”
Ted grits his jaw, feeling bad for being about to guilt Booster and partake in what feels like manipulation even if it’s true, then answers, “Because I missed you. And not in an ‘I want to use you for something’ way.”
Booster’s eyes wide slightly. He doesn’t quite believe Ted, but he was only now beginning to think about the implications of being here. He turns away from Ted, and suddenly Ted is scared that he’s going to leave, but instead he laughs before telling Ted, “I like you and I don’t know why.” He sounds so happy saying it. It’s bittersweet.
Ted presses his hands to the wall. “Please remember,” he whispers so quietly that Booster almost misses it.
Before the conversation can go on, Xesper enters with his arms behind his back. Booster goes to reach out and hug him, but Xesper dodges. “The green lantern dropped this,” Xesper tells one of the men working on something that Ted can’t see, but it’s likely weaponry.”
The man’s expression is blank as he mindlessly takes what looks like a photo. No doubt did Guy drop it on purpose. If Ted had to guess, it’s that photo of the three of them that Guy mentioned while they were making plans with Clark. However, Xesper has made sure to fold it while passing it off so Booster can’t see what’s inside. Unexpectedly, Booster reaches out to grab it, to which Xesper swiftly swiped it away with a scolding look. Jokes on him, Booster has seen that look from his mom so many times that it means practically nothing now.
“I want to see it,” Booster states, holding out his hand expectedly. Firmly, Xesper states, “No.”
“But I swear that I’ve seen that guy before.”
“No, you haven’t.”
Booster suddenly jumps for it again. “You get to take things,” Booster complains, genuinely confused. It’s like he’s more like a kid now than the adult version of himself. Suddenly, Xesper harshly slaps Booster. Xesper has seen many people in abusive relationships and how they double down after getting hit. However, Booster looks up at Xesper and abruptly punches him in the nose.
He’s still Booster; that same Booster who’s worked through his problems, and not everyone is akin to a harmless lamb when going through abuse. Sometimes, they turn out more like a rabid dog. Oftentimes when someone is cruel to you, you find every little thing they do frustrating and angering because that’s the response they aim to take out of you, even if they don’t do anything wrong in the moment.
Booster wasn’t strong enough to hurt his parents or fight back. When he hit them as a child they didn’t even react because they didn’t feel anything physically nor emotionally towards his outburst. Now, he can fight back, and he can hurt them.
Xesper looks partly baffled as Booster snaps, “You take my things!” Booster swipes at the photograph again, but he isn’t trying his best, which is why Xesper once again easily dodges. Booster angrily continues, “You’re allowed to hit me when I do something wrong, how come I can’t hit you?!”
“Because you’re not-!”
“Not an adult? Because I am! I’m grown now and you still take things from me!”
Booster shoves his hand into Xesper’s face, still trying to grab the photo. Xesper harshly grabs Booster’s with a suffocating grip, but that only causes Booster to bite him. Xesper pulls back his arm, then elbows Booster in his nose. They both separate from one another, staring at the other, each of them with bloody noses and a scowl. Abruptly, Booster rushes forward and hugs, which causes Xesper to harshly shove him off. Angrily, Xesper shouts, “You fucking hit me!” Booster looks confused because that’s sort of how his family operates; it should be obvious to someone that’s meant to be his mom that they hit each other.
Booster looks down at his hand. Xesper suddenly remembers what he was holding, but when he looks down the photograph is no longer there. Booster slowly looks up from the image of him, Ted, Guy, and Bea all standing together during New Year’s. Assumably, Tora is the one that took the photo.
.☘︎ ݁˚₊‧ʚ ⌛︎ ɞ‧₊˚ ݁☘︎.
“I think we lost them,” Guy says to Clark much too loudly to be considered a whisper. Clark looks unsure as he looks around the corner. He turns back to Guy and firmly responds, “What we need is to get past them.”
“Geez, have some faith in Ted, why don’t you?”
Abruptly, there’s a booming sound that’s difficult to explain, but it very clearly does not sound great. Clark and Guy look around the corner where they see Xesper on the floor, having been thrown, and Booster floating a ways away above him. He looks angrier than Guy has ever seen, and even Guy knows this is a bad sign for Booster despite being an angry and impulsive man himself.
“Booster!” Guy calls out, stepping completely out from where they were hiding, but he isn’t sure if Booster hears him over his heart thumping in his ears. Booster begins to speak, “You…You…” but he can’t find any words. Guards begin to fly at Booster, but Booster wastes no time speeding over to slam his fist into Xesper’s jaw.
Booster looks at the equipment on Xesper’s wrists, similar to Booster’s but also noticeably different, and forces them off.
Clark shouts out to Booster right before a guard grips Booster by the jaw and lifts him into the air. Guy loudly demands, “Put him down!”
“You took my body, my memories,” Booster seethes. Promptly, Booster spits in the man’s face. Before anything can come of it, someone knocks into the guard holding up Booster, which causes Booster to be let go as they’re sent into the floor. Booster looks behind him where everyone who was under mind control is free as well as Ted, who either freed himself or was freed by one of the no longer brainwashed people.
As they begin clashing with the guards, Clark and Guy joining, Booster snaps his head back to Xesper. He whispers to Xesper, “I miss them.”
Xesper is panting and holding his jaw, the blood in his nose mostly dry. He looks down at where the blood from his nose landed on his knuckles, then finally looks up at Booster and replies, “Yeah?”
“Yeah.”
Booster is about to punch Xesper again when Guy lands behind him. Guy asks, “You gonna hit him again?”
“Do you want me to say no?”
“Doesn’t matter to me. Matters to you, though.”
Booster looks down at Xesper, actually having a chance to think about what he’s doing. He decides, “I won’t hit him now, but no promises about hitting him later.”
Guy slaps a hand on his back. “See? I knew you could do it,” he beams, but Booster doesn’t look happy like Guy thinks that he should. Sensing that Guy might not be the best person to handle this situation, Clark steps in and asks of Guy, “Will you help me detain these people? After we should take a look around the city and make sure its citizens aren’t suffering.” Guy agrees with a shrug and walks over to Clark.
Ted watches Booster, both of them quiet for a long moment before Booster walks away from Xesper and Ted follows. Of course, the moment eyes are off of Xesper Clark steps in to detain the man, who cusses at Clark only for a petty Guy to fly over and slap him.
“I’m sorry,” Ted says. “For everything.” Booster doesn’t respond. Instead, he states, “I didn’t realize how much I missed you.”
“I missed you, too.”
“I know, but this was like…having my parents back didn’t fill anything in me, but without you I think I lost something.”
Ted offers Booster a smile, which Booster doesn’t look at out of feeling guilty. Fortunately, Guy shouts from across the room, “That’s because your parents are assholes!”
Clark moves in to tell Guy to knock it off, but Guy continues, “Your mom, your dad, they’re programming you to feel guilty and you can’t let them win!” Booster watches Guy with shock. He knew that Guy was stubborn, which he always thought was a bad thing, but right now it seems like being stubborn might actually help him, oddly enough.
Booster’s expression changes. Suddenly, he outstretches his arms. Guy mutters, “Oh God.” because he’s never known how to handle moments like this.
Ted hisses at Guy, “Get over here.” Guy tries not to look awkward as he flies over, where Booster promptly squeezes Guy in a hug, which makes Guy wheeze. Then, Guy pats his back with a subtle smile and says, “Alright, don’t kill me.”
.☘︎ ݁˚₊‧ʚ ⌛︎ ɞ‧₊˚ ݁☘︎.
Booster lays his legs across Ted’s lap as Ted hands him popcorn and Guy sits on the floor. Randomly, Booster mentions, “Y’know, Supes said I should ‘do therapy.’ I wonder why that is.”
Without taking his eyes off the movie, Ted responds, “Well, I’d say that it was seeing how awful your parents were to you.”
“But I beat them up. Well, one of them, and I liked it, too.”
Guy suddenly snorts. “Man, I wish I could beat my dad up, even though we ended on a good note or whatever,” he comments. “I was too nice.”
Skeptical, Ted raises an eyebrow and says, “You? Nice?” Guy waves a dismissive hand at Ted, his eyes still focused on the TV screen.
“You’d be surprised, Beetleman.”
“That’s not my name.”
“Yeah yeah, quiet while I watch my movie, Beetleman.”
Michael brings talking again, “Your guy’s stuff isn’t as crazy as the stuff we have in the future. I’m surprised that I like it. Not in a bad way! It’s just…way less material.”
Ted looks at Booster with a smile before speaking, “I think that was just how your dad set up your life to be.”
“Yeah? Well he failed.”
Ted tries to lean on Booster, but Booster’s too far away so he quickly sits back up. However, Booster notices and scorches much closer. They smile at each other, and suddenly Guy is looking at them and warning, “Do not get all gay on that couch!”
Ted questions him, “Why would you care? It’s our couch.”
“I don’t even want to know what you do on that couch.”
Ted is about to start bickering with Guy when Booster pulls him in close, which shuts him up pretty quick. This, Booster thinks. Is more than good enough.
