A questionable circumstance

Summary:

Mika’s father owes an immeasurable debt to their neighbours. The most powerful and influential kingdom in all five worlds. Lilith kingdom. The only thing he can think of doing? Sell his child to clear the debt. There's no way they would accept a deal like that right?

Notes:

The demon lord is dead. This is an au where all the worlds have a monarchy, i'm not gonna really explain that much so think whatever you wish. It's just a loose plot that I can write smut too. With the odd romantic thing and the odd piece of fluff here and there. Damien was mistreated but then the demon lord died and so it stopped around his teen years as James took care of him and the staff that tormented him. Also he can control his mind reading

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

A small smile painted her face as her mother stroked a hair brush through Mika's hair. She was elated. She was finally old enough to go to her first ball. Her Sixteenth birthday had just passed and she was finally able to carry out the family tradition. Her mother caressed her face; “you look absolutely beautiful my dear. I’m so excited for you to finally meet some of our greatest allies."

Mika blushed and looked away from the mirror in front of her, embarrassed at the idea of meeting a potential suitor. She rolled her eyes as her mothers hands gathered a section of her hair. “But mother I’m not ready to be wed yet,” she moped. She was utterly repulsed by the idea of marriage. Marriage means babies and babies mean she has to put her life and aspirations on hold to- all to appease a husband she may not even like. Her mother offered an understanding look. Laughing gently at the face Mika had pulled.

“Who said anything about marrying you off just yet dear. You still have much more to learn.”

Mika felt a slight tug on her scalp. Watching her mother braid she listened intently; “You will eventually have to choose to marry dear, lest you be married off to a man you had no choice in.”

A small frown painted her face. “You wouldn’t allow that, Would you mother?” Her mother stood from her seat behind her daughter, pulling Mika up and brushing off the pale pink gown she was wearing.

“I wish I could promise that my darling Its likely Id have little choice in the matter”

Mika excitedly stepped out of the luxurious carriage, peering meekly at the castle that dwarfed her. The fanfare almost deafened her, announcing her and her family's arrival to the thousands of noble families at the castle.

Mika’s mother hurried her inside, eager to introduce her to the nobles within the castle. Mika however was not so eager. The attention she was receiving was wholly unwelcome. She felt many eyes tracing all over her. Trudging up the castle's stone stairs, she was soon embraced by the warmth of lamps littering the hall leading to the ballroom. Warm hands grasped hers as a kiss was delicately placed on her forehead, “Now go, make some good connections. I love you” her mother smiled and pushed her into the ballroom.

She stumbled while glancing around. She spotted a gentleman that almost looked like a guard stood at the doors- Oh he was one. He clutched a spear in a semi-threatening way but didn’t look much older than herself. She looked at him longer, borderline staring, noticing his pointed ears and was that purple on his hand??? He soon frowned sternly at her, slamming his spear in front of him. She shrank back at that, stumbling back frantically before bumping into a hard chest.

“What the fuck?!, watch where you are going you fucking idiot!” Mika froze, daring not to turn around to face the voice so harsh and uncaring who was clearly pissed off they had been knocked by her. She turned around quickly, holding her hands up in a placating gesture.

“I so sorry, please for-” she cut herself off, quickly realising she had bumped into the middle incubus prince of Lilith castle. Her eyes widened as she met his forest green eyes. He was huge, approximately 7 inches taller than her and definitely much heftier than her.

“Please forgive me!” she squeaked out before running away and being waved over by her favourite princess from a neighbouring kingdom, she rushed over, relaxing and giggling at her best friend's excitement.

“Have you seen them!!” Evangeline, also affectionately referred to as eva, gushed, referring to the incubi brothers as she led Mika to the balcony. They owned this castle, this ball was their fathers idea in an attempt to find at least one of them a wife. His sons were known across the land to be an...acquired taste and the demon lord was clearly getting anxious his lineage would die.

His youngest son was only 18, so they still had plenty of time, Mika lamented. But alas she shrugged it off. She shook her head. “Yes! I accidentally walked straight into the middle one after I had ran into this guy I think you would like!” she moped, Eva giggled and implored Mika to continue, ready to gush over what Mika had seen.

Sipping the drink Eva had handed her, she frowned. “What do you think will happen if none of them find a wife?” Mika pondered.

Meanwhile, Eva cringed, “I would much rather not know”

Mika grinned stupidly to herself as she sat down in the carriage. “Did you have fun dear?” her mother smiled softly. Mika nodded, peering out the window gently touching her crimson cheeks.
