Chapter Text
Melody stared at the ceiling. She was so tired she felt dead. The only thing to give her energy at this time was… her posters! She looked over, simply to discover that they had disappeared. Again. She sighed.
“Back to my staring-at-the-ceiling routine,” she said. She decided that when her mom called her for dinner, she would reply that she wasn’t hungry. Of course she was, but she was too tired to walk to the dining room.
She sighed again. And again. And again.
The tenth time she sighed, she realized two things - one, she needed to catch her breath from sighing so much. Two, sighing wouldn’t give her energy, so it was pointless to do so. Unless she wanted to catch her breath again because of the sighing.
Melody slowly closed her eyes and fell asleep.
That night, a shadow crept into her room and placed the posters on the wall. The ones it had stolen the night before. Melody dreamt of the shadow, and yet regarded it as simply a nightmare. Little did she know what had happened while she was asleep.
When she woke up, she got out of bed and quickly glanced at the wall. She noted that the posters had reappeared. She happily went to her desk and went on her favorite website. About an hour later, her mother entered the room and ordered her to turn off the computer.
