Aurora was excited Scott was trusting her to walk with him to the market! She knew that when she started to get tried Scott would scoop her up back into the pack. But it was still important to her that she could show her human that he need not worry about her.
After all she had already promised to herself that she would grow up big and strong to make sure she could protect Scott. For though he was one of the largest humans in the academy, he was kind and gentle to many.
She liked that about her rider how well he cared for others and of course her.
So Aurora didn't know what to think when Cindermeare bounded over the stairs outside of the academy door running straight into Scott's legs. From what Aurora could tell Scott, didn't know what was going on either. The look on his face being one Aurora had seen when he was researching in the library and got stumped by a concept.
Not that Aurora was upset, quite the opposite actually she had deeply missed Cindy. The warmth from under her scales being pressed up against her naturally cold ones, Aurora noticed it the must when she would wake from a nap and Cindy was no longer there. The missing presence in her life she found was similar to her rider. Aurora found she missed Cindy like Scott missed Pyro.
Which is why it was concerning to her to see Cindy alone.
"woah you okay Cindy? What's going on?" Scott asked concerned much the same about the situation as she was. He bent down to quickly pick up Cindy checking her over for scapes. Immediately though once in his arms Cindy started making biscuits on his arm, her sharp claws only making little damage to the fibers in the weave. All the while growling and purring with her mouth trying to take little nibs out of the same arm.
Scott looked down to see something, his face flashing with another look Aurora recognized, it was discovery. "What do you have there Cindy a note?" he asked as he reached down to take it off the baby dragon. Once removed Cindy was much calmer but Aurora could tell she was still troubled from her scales scrunched up in-between her eyes.
Aurora did not wish for Cindy to be worried or upset so she climbed up her rider's pant leg and onto his shoulders to rub her head against Cindy's. For Scott's part he managed to open the note semi one handed due to the baby dragons on his person. The worry on his face did not leave though like Aurora had wanted it to, only got worse. "Pyro and Maddy were captured? Cindy did Pyro send you on your own?" Scott's voice had not been calm. Aurora thought it came from how he had shut the other out in hopes of not getting burned, the other had decided to leave her rider she had thought also. But now both could tell this was not the case.
Cindy gave a quick bark of yes and started wriggling out of Scott's arms to get down. Though Aurora knew she needn't fight for Scott for her rider was wise as he was kind. He bent down once again to return Cindy to the ground who took of down the steps waiting for them to follow. Scott reached behind his head and opened the knapsack a little wider for her to fit in. She was able to squeeze her way into the bag. And just before they took off after Cindy she thought she heard him say 'stupid reckless man'...

It had been a week since Pyro sent out Cindermeare on the mission to ensure his and Maddy's rescue. He may die of worry before they come for them though, to say he was scared was an understatement. Pyro was terrified for his baby dragon, she was all alone however far from him like it would matter as he was still strung up in a floating coffin hanging from chains with only the desperate voice of Maddy as she slowly starts to lose faith.
Pyro is sure he was going through it just the same when he started to hear voices.
wait not voices just one, a very familiar one...
Scott.
Scott was coming this way.
His childhood best friend he had a falling out with just before he was taken was walking this way talking to Cindermeare and Aurora. Great, how much lower could his peg be knocked down the board.
Pyro actually didn't want the universe to answer the last question.
The state of his ego could be thought about later after all he could now hear Cindy's little growls and calls. Sh was safe had gotten help like he had asked. Pyro was deeply proud of her and would make sure to tell her just how much.
"Ah so it's just not himself he got into trouble?" came from below the voice he's been somewhat dreading and wanting to hear these past weeks in the cell.
Scott's voice seemed to actually ground Maddy once agin to reality as she bounded up from her sitting position to grasping teh bars almost in hopes she could actually reach Scott. "Scott! Please help I've been here weeks with him!" She sends a withering glare like she did at the start of their shared capture and for good measure Ambi decides to throw him one too.
Though Pyro is not looking down himself for fear of seeing a very smug look on Scott's face can instead hear his grin through his words as he promises to get both down.
After searching for the chain to get them down and getting Pyro and Maddy's help for directions towards it Scott successfully got them out.The baby dragons were very delighted to be reunited with one another Maddy said. They were all actively playing with a ball that Scott brought with him.
Speaking of Scott he had a slight grin on his face but his brows were pressed with concern, the worry lines did not suit his face in Pyro's opinion. "So do you both want to get out of here cause cage number two electric Boogaloo does not sound fun" he suggested already walking to get Cindy. Maddy scoffed "you are the reason we were up there in the first place don't you forget!" but followed him regardless to where Ambi was rubbing up against Aurora before moving away from the cold chill she got of the other baby.
Scott's heavier foot steps were heard also moving behind him and Pyro didn't really feel like turning around to face the music. He really just wanted to go back to the dorm and say see you tomorrow to Scott and as they greet each other in the morning. forcefully being away from his across the hall neighbour felt heavy on his soul. While it was annoying that it was Scott who came and got Maddy and him it was nice to think would come looking for him even though he had left him once again.
