Chapter Text
Inspired by the recent Restart chapter in which Sasaki has everyone's stuff in her bag.
Isono Miki: She's one of those people that carries a little compact bag in a bigger bag to make sure she has EVERYTHING. Carries three sets of earphones around just in case - she is the queen of power banks: your phone will NEVER die around her.
Always listening to an album, but at the same time struggles with paranoia if she can't hear what's going on around her. One earbud in, one out type of situation.
Harada Keizou: His bag his Sawa. Sawa fills the whole bag. This man has NOTHING useful on him. Regularly crawls over to Yukino on hot summer days begging for some of her water.
She, unfortunately, is terrible at packing appropriately. They dehydrate together every summer and never learn a darn thing.
Chiba Airi: Her bag is a DISASTER. Makeup is just littered everywhere, there's foundation powder that's exploded at the bottom that she says she'll clean up (she just covers it with an old shirt and pretends it's not there, NO CHIBA THAT'S NOT CLEANING). Always has a coffee in one of those little cup compartments.
Has a lot of little plush keychains. MASSIVE fan of the little gacha figurines. Sees labubu's and says that they're so ugly and yet cute and she NEEDS them. Unfortunately, when she discovers them she is shopping with Watari the enabler and Yanagi the too polite to tell her to stop so she gets SO many of them.
Kamimura Kazutoshi: This man was BORN to finesse the perfect pandemic bag. You need masks? Hand sanitizer? He's got them. He won't give you them, they're his, but he has them. Secretly really, really excited about having little compartments and nooks in his bags to place things because it looks neat and is practical! When he found his current bag, he gasped out loud in the middle of the shop because he loves it so much. Opposite to Chiba in that he cleans his bag out monthly - that thing looks brand new.
Hayashi Mai: You'd think she'd have a lot of practical stuff in there, wouldn't you? *INCORRECT BUZZER SOUND* wrong! Her dad has always been the one to provide plasters and power banks so she is fully reliant on him even now. Her phone regularly dies so her dad sneaks a power bank in there whenever he can. What she does have is a shit ton of books and a massive metal water bottle.
Gets SO embarrassed when the water bottle falls and makes a huge noise in class. She's one of those people who read like 5 books at once, AND she prefers hardcovers. You wanna know how she got those muscles?? By being a giant NERD.
Wada Masanari: God help this man. Why even carry a bag at this point? There's nothing in it. A packet of tissues that's been there for 3 years, a ton of receipts and literally nothing else except one volume of manga to read on the train.
Sasaki Hitomi: She, like Kamimura, LOVES little compartments. Her schoolbag has SO. MANY. COMPARTMENTS. and she's thrilled about it. Everything has it's place. Her notebooks MUST go in the back, in height order, and her pencil case MUST slot into the compartment on the left.
She acts super peeved whenever Ojima or Hiroaki beg her to put their stuff in her bag but she's actually very pleased that they think of her as reliable (and she has a specific spot for their notebooks now). Bonus points that Ojima is very entranced with how aesthetically pleasing her bag is. Flattery never hurts.
Ojima Takeshi: Ojima, Ojima, Ojima. When will he learn what size bag to take? NEVER. He brings a ridiculously oversized bag because he'd PLANNED to put a bunch of stuff in there, but never got round to it. He does the opposite too, fully forgetting like half of his stuff (Sasaki takes pity on him and offers hers).
He could ask his brothers for help, sure, but they're just as bad as he is. Hiroaki teases them by asking what their excuse is, they don't zone out like Ojima does. The Ojima brothers then place Hiroaki's bag out of his reach since that whole family are giants and Hiroaki is not.
Okazaki Hanano: doesn't believe in bags. What does that mean, you ask? It means that she steals whatever she wants, and she thinks that carrying around a bag is just asking to be robbed. Her form of flirting is stealing someone's bag and putting it on the edge of a rooftop somewhere.
Hama Ran: Like Hayashi, his bags are HEAVY with books. Turns out textbooks on demonology are pretty heavy. He has banishing salt in little bags, but one of them burst ages ago. It sits at the bottom of his bag and he says it's good luck (he just doesn't want to clean it). Lectures Chiba about cleaning her bag because he's the hypocrite of the year. Wears his bag straps loose because he doesn't like to feel restricted.
Tsuno Manami: Carries around a first aid kit, water, orange juice for blood sugar, granola bars, etc. You want something to get you back on your feet? She's got it! You want your phone to not die? You're out of luck. Her phone is dead like 70% of the time despite her not being on it. She's had the same phone for seven years now and doesn't intend to replace it. Often carrying around a book that someone has recommended her - she doesn't get much time to browse so she appreciates recommendations from her friends. Often reads on public transport. The books she has are ALWAYS library books, she loves her local library!
Hiroaki Nakamigawa: What is he doing. Why is everything loose? He has plasters, sure, but good luck finding them. Oh, you need a tissue? Give him five years while he gets one for you. Sasaki sees the inside of his bag and has to slowly count to ten. Every time. He insists that there's a system and he knows where everything is (he doesn't). He has a new bag every other week to go with a specific outfit - despite this ALL of them are messy and none of them has what he needs.
Would actually rather dehydrate than take a water bottle that doesn't match his aesthetic. Regularly has to beg Ojima for water. Ojima only has water on him 30% of the time.
Tamba Ruiko: Obvious that her parents pack her bag for her. Filled with only the essentials for gymnastics and school. Everything is aggressively plain (Tamba HATES this) and super practical. Water and her gymnastics uniform are always in there - there are never any snacks. Her friends got her super cute earphones that Tamba treasures and uses everyday to listen to fun audiobooks (typically romance or fantasy!)
Hasegawa Ken: Another 'I have a system!' guy that actually does NOT have a system he's lying to your face. Like Hayashi, he reads 5 books at once. He reads nonfiction books almost exclusively and has about 10 notebooks on him at all times.
ALWAYS has water on him because his anxiety meds make him sweaty. ALWAYS has coffee on him because he's dumb. Loose pens EVERYWHERE - there's ink stains all over the inside of his bag and they won't come out (Kamimura has TRIED). Has used the same bag for 6 years because he likes how it feels and is very attached to it. He'd actually cry if he ever had to throw it away. Hiroaki has a huge overreaction whenever he says it because it looks like 'a paupers bag, Takeshi!' but damn it Hasegawa loves this bag.
Watari Nishino: Her bag is FULL. Unfortunately, it is mostly full of things for her siblings, not for her. Routinely forgets what she needs because she's so busy packing her siblings bags. Often cries in frustration when she looks in her bag because it's not fair that she forgot her homework today or that she doesn't have a pen! Her friends do their best to help.
She's got a lot of patches on her bag - most of them represent people, but some of them are just for fun. She likes to make people guess which one represents them (she likes lying about it to see their reaction when she says they are represented by a patch of a coffee table).
Her fire dancing sticks sit at the top of her bag everyday, they're extremely comforting for her.
Yanagi Shigeki: Carries around orange juice, dark chocolate, and other little tidbits to help elevate blood sugar. Got into the habit of it when his sister's ED was at it's worst and now notices how many girls in his school struggle with it. Carries around pads also (the GOOD kind, wings and all). Often has a book Hayashi has recommended, or is listening to a book recommended by Tamba.
ALWAYS has moisturiser since the cold is unfortunately harsh on his skin - one for his face and one for his hands. Like Isono, he has a compact bag with his necessities in it - ChapStick, moisturiser, tissues, etc.
