Chapter Text
The bar wasn’t as extravagant as Lando had expected. Visions of wealth and excess had been on his mind all day, and yet, he sat now atop a barstool, the sticky, polished wood of the bar lingering on his hands.
“Do you see him yet?”
“Negative.” Lando muttered, disguising his subsequent sweeping glance around the room with a sip of his drink. He hadn’t quite meant to order something so strong, but he couldn’t regret the slight buzz it had given him. He placed the half-full glass back down and checked his watch.
“The meeting is supposed to start in five.” Another voice came, wireless in-earpiece crackling in complaint at the sudden intensity of volume. Lando’s jaw worked; clenching, unclenching.
“Yes, George, I know. Just be patient.” He whispered, elbow coming to rest heavily on the bar top, his chin in his hand.
It wasn’t the busiest of nights. It had been a warm day, and the evening dusk had refused to succumb to the usual cool of the British night time; instead, the summer heat stubbornly hung in the air. Likely, most Londoners had taken the rare opportunity to drink outside.
Lando raised the drink back to his lips, watching the entryway over his glass. His breath hitched.
“Anchor incoming.” He whispered, mustering up enough nonchalance to place his drink down and subtly watch the man’s entrance without drawing attention.
“Received.” Alex replied calmly.
The man looked exactly as expected, nothing other than ordinary for the common London clientele of a workday. Lando knew he was anything but. That being said, government officials tended to slip under the radar when they wanted to - or when they needed to.
“He’s sitting within my eyeline.” Lando added quietly, fingers nervously adjusting the sleeves of his jacket. “No target in the room yet.”
“He’s always late, as far as I know.” Alex said, a faint clicking of keyboard amongst the background noise.
“Just keep yourself safe, for god sake.” George said.
Lando resisted the urge to roll his eyes. He’d thought lately about taking a shot every time George had something along those lines to him, before realising these situations required some level of sobriety. “Don’t worry, mate.” He said gently, anyway.
He gave the room another glance, before taking a long moment to evaluate the man. His briefcase remained unopened, still firmly in his grasp. The man wore a designer suit blazer despite the heat, and he sat uncomfortably - posture straight, legs tucked beneath him cleanly, hands folded in his lap.
“He doesn’t exactly give off the energy that he expects to stick around.” Lando mused under his breath.
“No?” George asked.
“Bag closed. No documents on the table. Looks like a man whose business is elsewhere.”
“Be careful, then. This could be unpredictable.” Alex said.
Lando nodded to himself, before checking his watch again. Three minutes late. A wave of nerves rolled through his body, his heart squeezing. He picked up his glass and finished the drink.
“Another, please.” He asked the barman.
“Vodka orange juice?” George mused.
“No, you twat. I’m not 18 anymore.” He whispered in reply.
“Ah, vodka and Red Bull!” Alex teased.
“Rum and coke.” Lando muttered, “Cheers.” He said to the barman as his drink was placed in front of him.
Grabbing the drink, he turned back towards the man. He froze.
“Target with the anchor. Sat down.” He said, eyes widening as he took him in.
They’d heard very little about him. He was supposedly very elusive. Yet, here he sat, only metres from where Lando was nursing his rum and coke. His hair was slightly long, with an endearing swoop of fringe at the hairline.
“What? You didn’t see him walk in?” George asked incredulously.
“I was getting my drink.” Lando whispered defensively.
“And he is a hitman, George. That’s sort of their thing.”
The meeting they had all been expecting didn’t necessarily seem to be an especially long interaction. Their target had said - from what Lando could tell - little to nothing, and the government official whom he was supposed to be completing a deal with did not seem entirely happy.
“81 doesn’t look how I expected him to look.” Lando said quietly, sipping his drink and flinching slightly at the alcohol. George groaned down the earpiece.
“You’re a whore.”
“I didn’t say he was hot.” Lando muttered, eyebrows furrowing. Though, now that he considered it, the hitman’s face wasn’t bad to look at.
The exchange between the conspicuous government official and 81 lasted only a matter of minutes more, before the former was standing, leaving without so much of a handshake or goodbye. Lando frowned.
“No deal, clearly. Anchor gone.” He muttered, averting his attention back towards the bar and resuming his earlier position, elbow holding up his chin in defeat.
“What? How weird.” Alex said, annoyance audible as he sighed.
“Hey, this is not a lost cause. We know who 81 is. We know his face now. That’s huge.” George said.
“S’true.” Lando muttered, turning back to the table where the prior meeting had just ended, hoping to gain one more glance of 81, to commit his face to memory.
The hitman was staring at him. The two locked eyes. 81’s face changed imperceptibly, his eyebrow lifting in what felt like a challenge. Lando looked away quickly.
“Fuck.” He muttered, staring down at his rum and coke, hands gripping the glass. From his periphery he saw a figure approach, agonisingly slow.
“Lan? What’s wrong?” Alex called worriedly.
The hitman sat down beside him. Facing forward, his knee came to rest against Lando’s. The touch sent a jolt through Lando, who bit his lip in an attempt to calm himself.
“Whisky.” The hitman said to the barman. He was Australian? That was certainly valuable information if he could leave this bar alive to tell it.
“Lando. What’s happening?” George asked. Lando could feel his panic, but he couldn't reply. He couldn’t blow his cover.
If it wasn’t already blown.
81 nodded to the barman in thanks as he handed him the drink, placing it down on the bar, before swivelling slightly towards Lando. The silence stretched.
“Not sure a pretty boy like you should be sitting on your own, you know.” The man said. Lando half-jumped from his seat, before slowly turning his head to face the hitman.
He watched his face closely for a long moment. There was nothing to go off; his face was a complete picture of nonchalance.
“That’s cliché.” He replied finally, quirking an eyebrow.
“Lando, who is that?”
“Please tell me that isn’t 81.” The two said, speaking over one another.
Lando muted them. On the off chance he wasn’t just being toyed with until 81 killed him, he needed to stay focused.
The hitman shrugged. “Is it not true?” He asked.
Lando hummed, taking a sip of his drink and sighing, feigning casualty while his heart raced. “I suppose it isn’t anymore. I have company now.”
The man's mouth twitched at the edges, the ghost of a smile. “Why are you on your own, darling?”
“Got stood up. Didn’t want to waste the outfit.” He muttered, moving his glass in circles in his hands, watching the drink lap in waves. He hoped his nerves could be sold in some way as sadness. 81 pushed his knee further into Lando’s for a moment.
“If it helps, I’ve been stood up too.” 81 admitted, leaning in closer.
Lando blinked up at him. “Really? By that old guy?” He asked.
81 shook his head, smirking. “I knew you’d been watching me.” Lando’s heart dropped. Mistake. He swallowed harshly, shaking his head.
“No, I wasn’t, I just-”
“Hey, I don’t mind,” He reassured, his voice softer now, “Just wanted to make sure we’re on the same page, that’s all.” He added, eyes dragging up and down Lando’s body, before finishing on his face, locking eyes with him again.
Lando felt heat rush to his face. This couldn’t be happening. Not only was 81 a massive flirt, he was fucking hot.
“We are.” Lando said quietly, biting his lip. 81 nodded, pleased.
“I’m Oscar.” He supplied, finishing his drink with one swig before focusing his attention back to Lando.
“Lando.” He replied. He hoped his microphone had picked that vital piece of information up. He also, distantly, hoped George and Alex couldn’t hear any of this.
81 - Oscar - nodded again, licking his lips before reaching slowly across, slipping Lando’s necklace between his fingers and cocking his head. “Well, Lando. Would you like to get out of here and back to mine?”
Lando stared at him. His face was unreadable, save for the hunger in his eyes and smirk ghosting his lips. Lando nodded.
“Just- will you give me five minutes?” He said, nodding towards the bathroom. Oscar’s eyes softened.
“Of course. Take all the time you need.”
***
“What the fuck just happened?” Alex raged, and Lando moved the phone from his ear. His earpiece had been abandoned in the bathroom - he did not need that to be discovered.
“Hey, okay. I get it. But you got his name, right? And the accent?” Lando replied, voice hushed as he wiped the sweat from his face with a tissue.
“Yes. We’ve got that Lan. What the hell are you doing?”
“Gathering information.” He said simply. He threw the tissue down the toilet, closing the lid and sitting atop it.
“Right. But you’re going to escape round the back now, yes?” Alex asked, a warning in his voice. Lando scratched his neck.
“I wasn’t intending to, no.”
“You are going to go back to his place.” George accused, tone dry.
“Yes.”
“Lan. Get back here, now.” Alex pleased, “Stop trying to be a hero.”
Lando rolled his eyes. “I’m not,” He urged, “But it’s rare we’re given chances like these. We’d be fucking stupid to not take them.”
“We’d be bigger idiots to let you get killed for no reason.” George said sharply, “I’m asking Seb and Lewis.”
“Fine.”
A scuffle of movement came through the phone, and Lando placed the phone on his thigh, holding his face in his hands. It felt stupid. But it also felt right.
It had taken years to find information on just one of the government’s corrupt kill squad members - never mind one of the most prolific. They had to take this chance.
He pulled his hair slightly, just enough to hurt, before patting it back into place.
“Norris?” A voice called through the phone. He hastily grabbed it from his lap.
“Hamilton, yes?”
“Look. You’ve done enough. There’s nothing to prove. We can work with this new information.” He said.
“But-”
“However,” He interrupted, “We trust you. If you believe your cover isn’t blown, if you believe he thinks you are just a pretty face, we won’t stop you. Getting his address would be huge. We may never get this chance again. We’re leaving the choice up to you.”
Lando swallowed. He rubbed his eyes with his free hand, nodding to himself.
“Okay. Thank you - for the trust. I am going to go.” He said quietly.
There was movement on the other line. “Lando?”
“Seb?” Lando said.
“Look. Everything Lewis said, but also: it seems like he’s taking you back to his for a, well-”
“Fuck.” Alex called from the background. Lando grinned.
“Yes, thank you, Albon. We would never ask you to do anything sexual for information, so I, well. I suppose I’m asking if you genuinely want to.”
“No, I do, Seb.” Lando replied, voice softening, “It’s a… bonus. I’m going for the information but I’m not upset that sex is… part of it.” He said.
“Okay. As long as you are sure.” Seb said gently, “We will see you later.”
“Yeah, see you later.” Lando replied.
“Don’t fucking die.” Alex said, back on the phone. “Love you.” He added quietly.
“Love you.” George said.
“I won’t. Love you guys. I’ll be back later.” Lando said. He left a few seconds of quiet before ending the call. Maybe this was stupid.
Worth a try.
He pocketed his phone, leaving the stall and ventured back into the bar.
***
“Oscar.” Lando whined as the hitman planted kisses along his jawline, moving down towards Lando’s neck, where he sucked slowly, agonisingly, before biting. Lando hissed, hands moving into Oscar’s hair in desperation.
He’d made sure to focus on the walk home - despite Oscar’s incessant touching - to remember where he lived, the important detail. Now that he was inside, his resolve was fading, and fast.
“Get this off.” Oscar commanded gently, pulling at Lando’s shirt.
“You do it.” Lando countered breathlessly, grinning as Oscar sent him a feigned glare, obeying regardless. Oscar’s fingers made easy work of the buttons, composure calm despite his hunger. He discarded the shirt alongside Lando’s jacket, already strewn on the floor. Oscar’s hands came to settle at Lando’s bare waist, eyes roaming the expanse of his torso.
“So pretty.” He murmured, leaning back in to kiss Lando’s neck. Lando blushed under his attention, whimpering at the taunting nips at his neck.
“Stop teasing me, fuck.” Lando complained, shivering as Oscar’s knee pushed in between his legs, pinning him to the door.
“Stop whining.” Oscar taunted, coming back to press a kiss to Lando’s lips, deepening it with a sigh, unhurried. Lando’s eyes fluttered closed, but he reached for Oscar’s shirt, pulling it impatiently. He felt Oscar’s grin amongst the kiss, their teeth clashing together, before Oscar pulled back.
He freed himself from the t-shirt, and Lando’s breath hitched. He wasn’t sure what he was expecting but- it wasn’t that.
“Sleeper build.” He muttered, staring at Oscar’s bare chest. Oscar raised an eyebrow, pushing Lando’s hair from his eyes. The gentleness with which he treated Lando only made him want Oscar more.
“You like it, hm?” He teased.
Lando shrugged. “Maybe. Think I’d like it more if you got to the point though.”
Oscar stared at him for a moment, lips red and swollen, hair a mess. Wordlessly, he grabbed Lando’s legs, hauling him up into his arms.
“Oscar!” Lando squeaked, wrapping his arms around his neck.
“I’m getting to the point, darling.” He said, carrying Lando to the bedroom and depositing him onto the bed. He crawled onto the mattress, hands coming to Lando’s belt without warning, undoing it and yanking his jeans and boxers down together, throwing them across the room.
“Fuck.” Oscar said breathlessly, taking in Lando’s body. Lando leaned back onto his elbows, letting him look, locking eyes with him and parting his legs. Oscar took the invitation. Bringing his mouth to Lando’s thighs, he pressed delicate kisses along his skin, moving closer towards his hard cock.
Lando whimpered, hands reaching back to Oscar’s head, guiding him closer to his cock. Oscar looked up at him teasingly. “What do you want, pretty boy?”
“Please.” He begged, fisting Oscar’s hair in desperation.
“Please, what?” Oscar coaxed, locking his eyes on Lando’s face while licking the outside of his thigh, to the spot just before his cock. Lando whined, legs quivering with want.
“Osc, please, fuck me.”
Oscar sucked in a sharp breath, nodding. He quickly stripped from the rest of his clothes, before grabbing the lube and a condom.
He reached to kiss a whine from Lando’s lips, settling between his legs. The lube was cold on his fingers, and Lando flinched as Oscar’s first finger pushed in gently. Oscar brushed soft kisses across Lando’s stomach in distraction.
“That’s it, good.” He muttered against his skin in praise as he pushed a second finger in, and Lando arched his back slightly at the intrusion, wincing as Oscar’s third finger entered. He gasped as Oscar stroked that spot.
“Osc, there.” He begged, eyes fluttering closed.
“I’ve got you, good boy.” Oscar whispered, stroking it again, Lando’s hips bucking at the combined praise and pleasure at once.
“Ready, please.” Lando said, reaching with one hand for him. Oscar nodded, scissoring with his fingers one final time before gently pulling them out. Lando groaned at the loss of touch.
“I know, just one second.” Oscar reassured, quickly putting the condom on and squeezing lube onto his cock. He hissed at the cold. Lando lifted his head, an amused grin on his face despite his desperation.
“See? Not nice, is it?” He teased.
Oscar slapped his thigh gently. “Do you want me to fuck you or not?” He threatened, crawling to position himself above Lando.
Lando stared up at him, grinning, arms coming up to wrap around his neck and pull at the hair on his nape. “We both know you will anyway.” He said.
Oscar leaned down to bite the lobe of his ear, before pressing a kiss to his lips, teeth clattering. With one quick bite of his lip, Oscar pulled away. “Ready?”
“Please.” Lando said breathlessly, spreading his legs further in anticipation.
Oscar pushed in slowly, gritting his teeth at the feeling. Lando squirmed at the first push, hands moving to hold Oscar’s broad shoulders, gasping. He clenched around Oscar, who groaned as he bottomed out.
“Look at that,” He said, voice shaking, “Taking all of me. So good for me.” He whispered, leaning down to nibble at Lando’s neck, kissing over the leftover bite mark.
“Move, ah.” Lando whined, finger nails digging into the bare skin of Oscar’s shoulders.
Oscar obeyed, giving an experimental thrust, before grabbing his small waist and increasing the pace, fucking Lando relentlessly. Lando’s eyes fluttered closed, head falling back against the pillows as Oscar fucked into him, whimpers escaping his mouth with each thrust.
“Good boy, so good.” Oscar whispered as he fucked him, leaning down to suck at his left nipple.
“Osc.” Lando moaned, scratching his back as his hands searched for purchase.
Oscar slowed for a moment. He pulled Lando’s legs up and changed the angle. Lando cried out as Oscar hit his prostate, clenching around his cock as his legs quivered. Oscar groaned and tightened his bruising grip on Lando’s waist.
With every thrust, Oscar fucked into Lando’s prostate, the obscene, wet noise echoing around the room. Lando whined shamelessly, tears falling as the pleasure filled his body.
“Gonna- can’t last much more.” Lando stuttered out, arms wrapping back around Oscar’s neck.
“S’okay, darling. Me neither.” Oscar said. He kissed his wet cheeks, “Taking me so well. S’like you’re made for my cock.”
Lando whined loudly at that, back arching further as Oscar’s brutal pace continued, the bedpost hammering against the wall.
Oscar brought one hand to Lando’s leaking cock, teasing the base before firmly stroking him up-and-down, in time with his thrusts. Lando shuddered, hands moving to grip Oscar’s hair, pulling, fisting. His hips tried to buck into Oscar’s hand, his other pinning him to the bed by the waist.
“Gonna-, Osc.”
“Go on, Lan.” Oscar reassured, groaning as Lando clenched again around his cock. Lando’s vision blurred to white, cum scattering across his stomach and Oscar’s hands, gasping for air. “Good boy, that’s it.” Oscar whispered breathlessly as his thrusts stuttered, hands back to gripping Lando’s waist, cumming with a deep groan until his thrusts slowed to a stop.
He collapsed onto Lando, sighing with pleasure and exhaustion. Lando absently brought his arms to wrap around Oscar. They stayed interlocked for a while, breathing through the come down and tiredness.
Oscar lifted his head, looking down at Lando. “Was that all okay?” He asked softly, bringing a hand to rub at a particularly angered looking bruise on Lando’s neck.
Lando blinked up at him, nodding. “Was good, Osc. Better than good.” He said. Oscar smiled tiredly.
“Good. Me too.” He whispered.
They stared at one another for a moment. Oscar shifted slightly. Lando grimaced.
“Okay, yes. I’ll get us cleaned up.” Oscar said with a breathless laugh, slowly pulling out with a slightly gross squelch, pressing a tender kiss to Lando’s cheek before getting up, wandering into the ensuite.
“I didn’t mean to make that face out loud.” Lando called after him.
Appearing back with wipes, Oscar looked at him fondly. “No?”
“I’ll take the wipes, though.” Lando added sheepishly. Oscar hummed, coming to sit beside him, gently pushing his legs apart once again. Lando obeyed, but looked at him confusedly. “What are you doing?” He asked.
Oscar glanced up at him. “Cleaning you?”
“Oh,” Lando said, “Oh, right. Okay.”
“Is that not okay?” Oscar asked, retracting his hands immediately.
Lando shook his head quickly. “No! It’s okay, good, actually. I-, just hasn’t happened before. S’all.” He admitted, looking away. There was a beat of silence.
“Who the fuck are you getting with? That they aren’t cleaning you after fucking you?” Oscar asked incredulously.
Lando stared at him with wide eyes. “Uh-, well. Most guys? I don’t-”
“What? Who are you getting with?”
“Just-, I’m not sure this is a big deal.”
Oscar shook his head. “No,” He said, leaning back towards Lando’s thighs, beginning to wipe him gently, “That’s not okay.” He brought a second wipe, cleaning Lando’s stomach and slowing at his cock, giving Lando a minute to adjust to the cold before finishing off.
“Thank you.” Lando said quietly. Oscar smiled softly at him as he threw the wipes into the bin.
“S’okay,” He said, checking his phone for the time. “Hey, it’s late. Do you want to stay here until the morning?” He offered.
Lando stared at the floor. He was now beginning to regret this - not because it had been bad, but in fact the opposite. He’d never been treated so kindly after sex. Most guys fucked him and kicked him out; he’d never minded that, but now he found himself not wanting to go back to it.
But he couldn’t stay. This was, he had to remind himself, 81. The hitman, the assassin, that was working directly against him. For the government that had taken so much from his country. He was dangerous. Just because he fucked Lando kindly didn’t detract from the innocent people he had killed.
Lando clenched his jaw.
“Lando? You okay?” Oscar asked worriedly, resting a gentle hand on his leg. Lando turned to him, smiling sadly.
“I’m sorry, Oscar. I have to go.” He said. Oscar frowned, studying Lando’s face as if to extract the answer from his eyes.
“Did I do something wrong?” He asked uncertainly. He looked sad. Lando’s chest squeezed.
“No, no,” He said, shaking his head, “No, I just need to go. I’m sorry.”
Oscar stepped back politely, nodding. “Okay, yeah. No need to apologise. You do what you need to do.”
Lando couldn’t connect this man to 81. But he knew, rationally, they were one of the same. He’d learnt to listen to his head over his heart. He slowly got dressed, picking up the previously strewn clothes around Oscar’s apartment. Oscar pretended not to watch, but Lando saw his worrisome figure from the corner of his eyes.
He slid his jacket over his shoulders, looking at Oscar with a sad smile. “Okay, well. Thank you. That was-, that was nice.” He said awkwardly. Oscar shook his head fondly, uncrossing his arms and walking across the apartment, closing the space between them.
“You’re acting like we just agreed to a trade deal. That was a good fuck, Lan.” He said, backing Lando into the door.
Lando looked up at him, eyes wide, “Yeah, it was-, yeah.” He said, swallowing harshly. He clenched his jaw. He unclenched it.
Oscar narrowed his eyes. “You do that when you’re nervous. Why are you nervous?” He asked, a hand coming up to Lando’s face, his finger brushing the outline of his jaw. Oscar moved his face to Lando’s ear. “Do you have a reason to be nervous that you’re not telling me, hm?” He asked, voice low. Different to any other tone he'd spoken in before.
Part of Lando froze. Perhaps five years ago he would have frozen completely.
He playfully pushed Oscar away, with a roll of his eyes. “Stop trying to get me hard again. I need to go.” He said, hoping the shaking of his hands were only obvious to himself. Oscar was unnervingly motionless, face unreadable as it had been at the bar. He stared at Lando, eyes scanning him, like he were a line of text to decode.
Lando would not give him the chance.
“Okay. Goodbye, Osc!” He said with as much confidence as he could muster, quickly yanking open the door, waving with a grin before ducking out of the apartment. He slammed the door behind him, heart in his mouth.
***
Lando had spent the walk home looking over his shoulder every five seconds, and was relieved to get home.
“Lando!” Alex called, before he appeared breathlessly in front of him. His first reaction - a harsh shove - was mediated by a bone-crushing hug that nearly broke Lando’s ribs.
“Hey. I’m sorry. I’m okay.” He said tiredly into Alex’s ear as he returned the hug, appreciating the safety he felt sometimes only in his friend’s arms.
George quickly materialised, giving him a firm shake of the head to denote his disapproval before joining the hug.
“You idiot.” Alex scolded, pulling away and resting his hands on Lando’s shoulders, checking for damage. “Fucking hell, whore.” He added, pulling his shirt down from his neck.
Lando batted him away. “Fuck off. We don’t all live with our boyfriends.”
“We can’t fuck because of you in the bedroom over, so don’t start that,” George said, handing him a small bowl of chocolate, “Now tell us everything and eat some food.”
“Right, well, great fuck,” Lando began, chucking a chocolate button into his mouth, “He was very kind. Very sexy. I think, though, he figured me out just before I left. But regardless, it was fine, and I-,”
“He found you out? Lan!” Alex shouted, “You can’t just say that.”
George looked at him agape. “What the hell does that mean?”
Lando groaned. “He just-, I don’t know. He asked me why I was acting weird. And asked if I had a reason to be nervous,” He said, adding quietly, “Backed up against the door like he was about to kill me.”
Alex buried his head in his hands. George looked up to the ceiling in despair.
“Right, but I got out. It’s fine,” Lando said defensively, slipping another chocolate button into his mouth, “He probably just thinks I got shy.”
Alex looked up, shaking his head. “Yeah that sure sounds like it!” He said sarcastically. Lando shrugged.
“Okay, regardless. You’ve got his name, his address, his accent. Anything else?” George asked, changing the subject before his boyfriend collapsed from stress.
“I can draw his face, if that would help,” Lando offered, “Other than that, his apartment was very ordinary.”
The two friends nodded. “That’s good, Lan. We’ve got a name and address. You get the drawing done tomorrow morning and we’ll head to base to talk to Seb and Lewis.” Alex said, rubbing his eyes, “For now though, let's sleep.”
Lando hummed, finishing the last of the chocolate and depositing the bowl in the sink. He bid his two friends goodnight and threw himself down onto bed, sighing heavily. The pleasant ache between his legs acted as a reminder of what had just happened.
He kicked off his jeans and unbuttoned his shirt, eyes wandering over the marks on his body. He liked how the hand imprints on his waist felt possessive.
He swallowed that thought down. Pulling the duvet over himself, he settled into bed.
When he closed his eyes, all he saw were Oscar’s staring back at him.
