the cold, red brick-wall warms my back
as i act surprised to spot you across the hall
but truth is: my eyes have been searching
as naturally as my heart was beating
calm water was splashing in your iris
and my insides were on fire
how did i even see the sun reflect off your ocean
from this far away and overshadow my own flame?
teach me how to stand so tall and breathe so evenly
teach me how to get up after the fall and stop smashing the replay-button so eagerly
and if you ever find me at your door, please hesitate to open it
because i might kiss and then drag you to the pit
there we will burn together
until there is nothing left but bones and the heart
until by my love we are tethered
and even gods can't do us apart
but the crowd breaks our eye contact, separating you from me
the next time it parts, only your shadow i manage to catch
and all the times after i can solely watch
how you drift further from me
