After a few more minuets of crying Bruce let the boy go, sitting next to him on the bed as Jason lays his head on Bruce's chest, the older of the two stroking his hair,
"Hey Jay, do you know why we came here today?"
"Nurse says you want to foster me..." Jason mumbles,
"Hm, that's right, but do you want me to?" The question was so simple, yet meant so much, it was the first time Jason had been given his own choice in what felt like years, he couldn't help it he sobbed again - louder than before.
"I just want my dad back..."
"Oh, Jay..." Bruce holds him closer, chin rested on the boys head,

⋅ ─ Chapter 01; Tell me again Evelyn, tell me again about the tragic events of-

Summary; Jason is found by Thomas

October 7th 1999

The year was 1999, and Doctor Thomas Wayne, a man of many titles - doctor, husband, father - was on his way to the gravesite in which his mother, a kind woman who always attended to her family, was laid to rest only five-years prior.

As he wandered around the yard looking for her Grave - having forgotten if it was the 5th or 6th row - he saw it... a boy. No older than a teenager, the boy was passed out, bloody and covered in dirt with one foot dangling over the grave’s edge, as if he’d just crawled out of it. Thomas immediately pulled out his mobile, thanking the Lord his son convinced him to get one, and dialed for the ambulance service - checking the boy’s pulse as it called.

Once in the hospital, Thomas quickly changed into his medical clothes deciding to head the case himself, and began to properly asses the boy. Dubbing him a ‘John Doe’ until he is to awaken, he begins preforming tests, and running scans - including a full body MRI, many standard X-rays, blood tests, and an ECG. The scans showed an increasingly shocking amount of damage, getting worse and worse by the moment as they discovered more; which only worsened a few hours later when the blood test results came back...

Patient Records

Gotham General Hospital

Patient; Jhon Doe - Patient ID; 23234 - Room; 2-26

Jhon Doe, assumed to be around 14 to 16 years of age, was found on the [7th of October] by [Dr. Thomas Wayne] at [Gotham Cemetery] - they were found passed out, with blood covering their knuckles, neck and dripping to their chest. Friction burns and callouses were observed on the patients fingers

In hospital, scans revealed to have been missing multiple of their internal organs. The ones missing were found were as such; the appendix,, the left lung. Along with a gash across the neck resulting in a damaged submandibular gland which was removed by the hospital during the re-sowing of the neck.

The patient also seems to have an autopsy style scar from what appears to have been a clinical autopsy style of cut - presumably from the organ removal.

John Doe is yet to wake, and will be questioned by, one, police Commissioner J. Gordon, when they are stable.

Scan/test Results

Jhon Doe was found on the [7th of October] by [Dr. Thomas Wayne] at [Gotham Cemetery]

Blood Test Results: Universal Blood Donor: type 0- However blood appears to be infected in some way not known as blood tests came back abnormal without a reason as to why - Further investigation is on going. Blood tests have also failed to identify the person from any known records.

ECG Results: Patient has a resting heart rate of 78 in the current comatose state - To be redone once patient is lucid

X-ray/MRI results: Patient is missing multiple internal organs -. Organs missing; the appendix, submandibular gland, the left lung, and 10% of the stomach.

The submandibular gland was removed during surgery at the hospital to sow the patients neck, however the patient arrived with the others missing. It appears that the appendix was removed when the patient was much younger in a crude way (does not appear to have been medically necessary nor does it appear to have been done by a doctor) while the others appear professionally done relatively recently - within this year.

October 17th 1999

Thomas came into work early that morning, and he was so thankful he had, as soon as he clocked in the buzzer for room 2-26 went off, he rushed up the stairs, and headed straight there, note book, and pencil in hand.

He opened the door in a quick succession, which in retrospect probably wasn't the best idea to do in a room with a possible trauma patient. Seeing the man rush in, John Doe flinches holding up his arm to his face in fear before Thomas held his hands up in surrender, showing he only had the two things in hand, as he began to explain.

“Hello, don’t worry! I’m Dr. Thomas Wayne, the lead practitioner here at Gotham central hospital" he paused realising the boy may have issues with doctors due to the operations he has been through, and dropped his professional tone, "I am here to help, don’t worry” he added, much more sincere and that seemed to calm the boy who lowered his arms.

Thomas began to edge closer, holding a blank notebook as he began to start with his questions;

“Ok, can you hear me?” He asked, and the boy nodded but pointed to his mouth and made an 'X' shape,

"Oh, can you not talk?" Thomas questioned, and the boy shook his head,

"Alright, here you go - a note book, are you ok to write"

The boy scribbles something, turning the note book around to show a 'yes'.

"Good!" Thomas smiles, sitting down on the chair next to the bed, and continued asking questions...

General Records;

Jason, 16 years of age, was found on the [7th of October] by [Dr. Thomas Wayne] at [Gotham Cemetery].

Police Interview: Patient was cooperative with Commissioner Gordon, however was unresponsive and uncooperative to other law enforcement stating they would only speak with the Commissioner. Patient appears to have police related trauma - possibly due their environments growing up, and from their previously mentioned time on the streets.

The interview went well with the patient being open to all questions from the Commissioner - however occasionally only giving vague answers.

General Records;

Jason, 16 years of age, was found on the [7th of October] by [Dr. Thomas Wayne] at [Gotham Cemetery].

Jason is recovering well - he now has an ACC device to promote easier communication, and is currently in ongoing physical therapy - his neck wound has not yet recovered enough to start speech therapy.

Now that he is recovering [Dr. Thomas Wayne] has decided to introduce Jason to more people (to integrate him more into society and smooth out his transition from hospital to placement) by bringing his own family in.

As Bruce Wayne has a emergency (and standard) foster license [Dr. Thomas Wayne] has mentioned Bruce Wayne is thinking of fostering, and helping Jason through his recovery - with [Dr. Thomas Wayne] present Bruce Wayne is the current best possible placement. While he is not permitted to leave the hospital yet psychiatrist's believe it is best to introduce Jason to possible placements before hand and allow him to form a bond.

Time line for anyone confused:

Died from the Joker at 15, was dead for 4 months, was revived, and took to the league by Talia who found him on the street, was dipped in the Lazarus pit, and later died at 16 protecting (baby) Damian from a revolution in the league - (also how he got his neck scar in this au (instead of a batarang it was one of the revolutionists and a ninja star style weapon)

He spent 4 months death, 2 weeks on the street, spent a month catatonic in the league and then three months with the Al Ghuls where he was adopted by Talia. Around 3 weeks into the 3rd month was the revolt and is where he later died from his injuries.
