“Kris…can I ask you question?”
The human looked at the deer monster in front of him as she held out her arms to them, as if she was offering a loving hug. The look she gave while some might have assumed it was one of love, acceptance and kindness? A part of Kris knew deep down that smile was something else, it wasn’t a kind smile, it was one of someone who knew they had their finger wrapped around another and walked them like a dog on a leash….
The human shuttered at that thought blushing as he remembered that Noelle is one of the few who knew what he enjoyed, what he loved, it’s what made him feel happy and alive even. He was standing on the dock in nothing but the swim shorts he had on him, and the pile of discarded clothing, it was a mixture of both his and hers…
He remembered how this whole day started: he had woken up as normal and did his normal wake up routine and had greeted his mom for breakfast and hugged her as she hugged him, though it wouldn’t be until the house’s phone rang that ended their loving embrace. Toriel naturally answered it and greeted whoever was on the other line as she did, she was surprised upon hearing the voice and then after a few quick “yes’s” she then handed the wall phone to Kris saying that it was one of his friends! Being curious he answered the phone and was shocked to hear it was Noelle! He blushed sense the last time they had interacted it was during their time in the dark world…granted they did interact a few times at school but it was brief and to say the least tense. Kris admittedly felt regret for what happened in the cyber world, but it helped Noelle right?
Kris’s thoughts were interrupted when he heard her call for him which snapped him back to reality, she was calling to see if he had wanted to hang out today especially since the new mall had opened up not that long ago. Kris accepted the invite not thinking much of it sense it seemed nice to be out on a Saturday especially with friends right?
Upon being dropped off at the mall Kris pulled out his phone and checked th time: it was roughly a few minutes after twelve and he was wondering where Noelle and Susie were…..
That was until he heard a female voice call out his name: “Hey Kris! Glad you’re here!!” It was Noelle he knew it right away
Though as he turned around he only saw her…where was Susie at? Noelle seemed to pick up on this as she giggled and apologized that Susie had changed her mind last minute and wouldn’t be able to come today due to something at her home….
Kris felt a bit upset at that sense he knew Susie would have loved the mall, In fact she had been wanting to go for weeks! He remembered having late night calls and text conversations with her about it! Why would she suddenly just not show up? He frowned at this as he hummed, Noelle noticed this as she then placed a gentle hand on his shoulder rubbing it as she leaned in, and reassured him that it’ll be okay and they’ll still have a wonderful day at the mall!
Ultimately the two did have a wonderful time at the Mall being able to explore all the new stores and even try out the food court! Noelle was really clingy towards Kris to say the least and wouldn’t ever leave his side, at first Kris didn’t mind it, but whenever the human tried to break off and do something on his own (even something as simple as going to the bathroom or get a drink from the water fountain) she would always be up on him as much as possible. At first Kris just simply waved it off, but it was starting to become off putting, which led to him confronting her once he pulled her off to the side. At first she was quiet and then eventually answered: “I just wanna make sure you’re safe Kris, you mean the world to me….you helped me get stronger, and I wanna return that favor”
That sent chills down his spine, not only did she fully remembers the dark world ... .but how she said that and the look she gave him. He didn’t feel as comfortable around her now. He would ask what she meant by “Return the favor”?
She would only giggle as she leaned in forward and whispered “Come meet me by the large lake….bring a swimsuit” she said this as she winked and then thanked him by kissing his cheek as she cupped his face rather tightly as she then started to walk away
Kris was left disturbed and more so didn’t know what Noelle was planning, but Kris feeling that something was off decided to try to call Susie one last time to see where the hell she was. He called her number and it kept ringing and ringing, but the strangest thing was that he thought he heard her ring tone but it was muffled….though as he turned his head in the direction he thought he was hearing it from all he saw was Noelle.
An hour would go by as he had eventually decided to go back to his house and try to understand what was happening, after he tried to call Susie, he had immediately dashed over to her house and tried to find her, but he didn’t see anything no signs that she had even been there recently!! Frowning, the human would then go around town asking if anyone else had seen Susie recently. Sadly for the most part most said a mixture of “No’s” and “not lately” though it wasn’t until he finally got to Berdly where he got an answer….
“Kris! I haven’t had the opportunity to go see our mutual purple mean girl of a friend, BUT! I did actually see her and the ever so smart Noelle hang out with each other a few days ago! They came and visited me in the hospital! I’m not sure what they were talking about half the time but it seems like Noelle was awfully insistent on Susie being with her that evening….maybe a study lesson? Or a small game tournament? Isn’t that what nerds like doing?” He had explained to Kris with a small smile as he chuckled to himself in an obnoxious manner before getting into a violent coughing fit and then the nurse came rushing in to check up on Berdly, while the human quickly thanked him and ran away towards the Holliday household, he had a sinking feeling within his heart that something bad happened and for whatever reason Noelle did something to Susie!!!
Upon reaching the gate Kris found it closed, but he spotted something at the base of it. It was a small piece of paper and his swimshorts…..trembling now he kneeled down and grabbed the note it simply read:
“Don’t keep me waiting <3 or Susie will meet up with Dess….”
The note dropped from his hands as it then fluttered in the wind as he just stared at the ground, he felt sick…he didn’t know what to say or do. Why was Noelle doing this? Was it because he made her use ice shock on all those monsters? Was it when he forced her to use Snowgrave on Berdly? Kris did admittedly felt guilty for what happened and didn’t expect it to go this far…but something compelled him to keep pushing Noelle to be stronger! Kris was deep in trance that it wasn’t until his phone violently started to ring that got him out of it, almost fumbling the little device he saw that it was a few text messages from Noelle.
The first simply read: “Tick tock little puppy….” With the second being an image of a large lake and then the third image being what looked like a familiar discarded jacket that was in front of a large metal door.
Getting the hint now, Kris finally picked up the swim shorts and without thinking dashed to the lake huffing and puffing along the way not wanting to waste any more time than he already has!! It took less than a minute to finally get to the lake. It was summer time and the leaves were still nice and green and a gentle breeze was felt, it would be a lovely spot and it is. Kris always enjoyed coming here whenever they could especially during the rougher days and nights the human came here to enjoy the silence and the warmth it brought. Though now, all it brought was dread and discomfort, as he walked up to the clearing he could make out a lone figure: a female deer monster around his age in a strange one piece swimsuit it was black and white? He couldn’t make out the patterns fully, it reminded him of a snow flake. He could see Noelle’s ears twitched as he then turned around and gasped happily as she clapped her hands with excitement! The smile felt genuine as she then stared at him with her now red eyes
“Oh Kris! I’m so happy you can make it! You were almost late! Fahahahah! Normally I’d let it slide….but if you were today of all days? I don’t think Susie would of appreciated it” she said with an almost sickening grin as Kris stopped a few feet from her as she then motioned for him to come close
Kris hesitated “W-where’s Susie Noelle?” The human with fear slowly rising up in his voice
The deer girl shook her head “Oh Kris…don’t you worry about her, right now you should only focus on me, and the lesson I’m gonna to give Fahaha!”
Kris tilted his head at her and asked what did she mean by that, Noelle finally moved towards Kris as her hooves crunched on the dead leaves and she placed her hands on his shoulders making him jolt a bit, she leaned in close and said: “Oh you’re swimming lesson….i know you’re not the best when it comes to this and after what you did for me, I simply wanted to help you like you did with me! So how about you finally get out of that old sweater and pants of yours and come join me!” She said while cutely booping his nose and walked to the edge of the lake
She turned her back to him giving him some privacy as he reluctantly stripped down and put on his swimsuit, by the time he was done Noelle was already waist deep in the water as she held her hands out to him
“Kris do you trust me?”
She asked that question as she tilted her head at him as she was currently waiting for him to join her in the water. He didn’t say anything as he just stood there cold and half naked in his swimshorts. He can’t imagine how the water would feel, it was probably nice, but he’s more afraid of what she’ll do once he’s in the water with her.
He wanted to run, no NEEDED to run. Though something prevented him from turning and going to get help. His legs felt like they were moving on their own as he began to step into the water, it felt weirdly nice relaxing almost though as he slowly made it to the deeper sections of the water that’s when the chill began to sink in and whatever force was compelling him to move forward began to ease up. Unfortunately he was now in front of Noelle and she quickly wrapped her arms around him tightly as if she was hugging him, but this wasn’t a hug there was no warmth or care. It was tight and it felt cold. The human shivered as began to flail and kick his legs around once the sudden numbness kicked in and he couldn’t stand up anymore!! Noelle’s hold around him was tighter than before as she looked down at him with a bittersweet smile
“Kris…please trust me, all I want to do is help you be better, it’s like you said before. I needed to be stronger, so I’m gonna make you stronger. I trusted you and I need you to trust me okay?” She said as she brushed his wet brown hair away from his eyes as he looked up at her in fear, especially once she began to drag them further into the lake away from the shore! He couldn’t even feel the ground below his feet anymore and he knew that the only thing keeping him from going below the surface was her now…..
He wasn’t a bad swimmer at all, but he didn’t enjoy much either…the deep end always reminded him of the darkness, while some found comfort in it, he didn’t always enjoy it. The feeling of weightlessness, the lack of air, something pulling him back down as he went further away from the comforting surface. He felt Noelle stopped as she kept them afloat in the center of the lake, as
She used one arm to hold Kris and the other to keep herself up. She looked at the human with a gentle gaze as she finally let him go and began to swim away from him “Come to me!”
Kris began to panic and gasp as fear took over him as he flailed his limbs about trying to swim trying to remember all of those lessons that Toriel taught him!! But he couldn’t! He made a valiant attempt to swim towards Noelle but she kept getting further away from him even playfully splashing him as she cutely taunted him. This went on for over two minutes and his limbs began to ache and tire and he wanted this to stop! But he didn’t want Susie to get hurt! He had to try!! Mustering up some strength he pushed through the aches and the exhaustion towards the deer finally! Making some real progress in this little “lesson” hers. She even stopped playing with him as she just floated in place staring at him, as he got closer and closer he reached out a hand to grab her, she held out her hand and grabbed his, with a smile she happily congratulated him for his effort, but that was only the first part.
Without another word or explanation, she pulled him in close and with a smile on her face she forced him under the surface! Kris gasped as bubbles left his mouth as he tried to push Noelle off of him but she still had her strength and had the advantage of not being tired as she simply stared down at him from above as he panicked below with him trying to survive at this rate knowing he wouldn’t make it! He stopped flailing as he held his breath, he held his eyes shot in a vain attempt to keep himself focused but Noelle occasionally shook him,
All the while giggling saying how cute he looked.
Though the pain in his lungs was immense he kept holding his breath! He doesn’t know what her plan was but he aimed to win this sick game of hers! All he had to do was to just stay under? She wasn’t gonna drown him right? These thoughts plagued the humans mind as he felt a convulsion hit him and bubbles erupted from his mouth as he coughed up and began to flail around again!!’ He needed air! He needed to come up!! Hasn’t he done everything she wanted!? No matter how hard he kept tugging at her or even trying to push her off, all she would do is either simply ignore it or brush his hands aside as the burning pain within his chest ached and got worse by the second. Though for all of his struggles and his effort Kris couldn’t win, another convulsion hit him as he let out a bubble filled yell as he screamed out for Noelle. He called for her to stop but all he got in response was silence and water entering his lungs as he began to choke and gasp his vision blurry and fading with his limbs now feeling like stone….
Noelle looked down at the human as she hummed as she tapped her fingers against his scalp stroking his wet mob of hair, as if she was deciding on something. It wasn’t until she felt him stop and saw the last of the bubbles on the surface that she finally went down herself and saw his emotionless expression and kissed him locking lips as she moaned into him. Feeling a strange rush go through her as she parted from the dark cold embrace she finally pulled Kris back up and adjusted him so that he was now floating on his back and perform CPR on him, it took almost thirty uninterrupted seconds to almost a minute but he finally gasped as he started to throw up water as he weakly flailed around with Noelle shushing him as she wrapped herself around him. She brushed his hair aside and nuzzled him lovingly, she stared at him as she had briefly considered leaving him down for much longer as a way to teach him a lesson for trying to interrupt their special day by calling Susie….
Though in the end she couldn’t fault him, Kris has always been a like a puppy especially in her eyes, scares easily, loves to follow whoever and takes their orders without question, he was just too perfect for her….it did shock her when he took charge and made her do all of those things…freezing those people especially berdly, something awoken within her, she enjoyed it? She let out a peaceful sigh as she adjusted Kris in her arms as she kept them both afloat in the water….he was so cute like this! Her thoughts raced as she looked down at him with a look of pride!
“You did such a good job…I’m proud of you, I know this isn’t what you expected…but trust me. I’m doing all of this for you! For us…” she said in a Low whisper as the redness in her eyes began to shine more violently than ever before as she held him close stroking his head and back..
“Do you trust me?” She asked once more as she cradled him in her arms with Kris weakly looking up at her panting and breathing harshly as he stared into her own eyes and nodded
“I do…” he said with exhaustion and acceptance in his voice with his limbs feeling like nothing and his body almost like a rock, he would of almost accepted what Noelle did to him…just a peaceful way, though he wanted to be with someone now even her despite all that she did to him…he just prayed that Susie was okay…that he helped her.
With a genuine smile she leaned down and lovingly embraced him as she kissed him with passion, it was a good thing they were in the waters otherwise Noelle would have seen the tears that ran down Kris’s face, he floated there in her arms as it slowly came to him, all of this, he weekly tried to reach up to someone….anyone! Noelle noticed this as she smiled and brushed his hand away “Don’t worry sweetie…we can leave the water now, now let’s get you all dry and cleaned up!”
Noelle carried Kris out of the lake as she carefully
Swam with one arm and used her legs while
Having one arm wrapped around him, though Kris clung onto her tightly as he shivered. Once out of the water she helped him out of the water and slowly pried him off of her. He weakly walked around getting used to walking again as he picked up both his and Noelle’s clothing, but stopped as he realized he was still wet…
Noelle saw Kris’s discomfort and snapped her fingers which made him go still as she waved her finger at him, “Oh Krismas…i appreciate you getting my clothing, but you should have grabbed the towel!” She said as she pointed off to the side and there was a small stack of snow themed towels, the deer girl walked over and proceeded to not only dry herself off but also help dry and dress Kris! Once she was done she cutely ruffled his still damp hair and nuzzled him “Oh Kris! Since you passed today with flying colors despite trying to spoil things, Susie was at my house this whole time, I convinced her to have a movie marathon with me~ Fahahaha!” She giggled as she then reached down and held his visibly shaking hand
She noticed this as she then held a hand up to his forehead and gasped! “Oh Kris you poor puppy! You’re cold! Don’t worry, let me take you home now and you can get all snuggled up with me!” She said as she walked Kris back to her home in silence, with the weight of today hitting Kris like a sack of bricks.
Even as he reached the front door of the holiday house with Noelle guiding him, and when they were greeted by a happy jacketless Susie. It still made him feel uneasy, even later on after all the scary movies, all the popcorn, the drinks spilled and messes cleaned up. Even when he was laying there on the couch with Noelle wrapped tightly around his body being cradled like a toy by someone who he thought was a sweet, but easily scared girl, but after today he didn’t know what to think. Though when he heard Susie snoring he relaxed as he tried to close his eyes and sleep feeling both at peace, and uneasy as he slowly drifted off
