Gaara opened his eyes in surprise when he felt something nestling up in his side. He looked down to see his son, Shinki, gripping onto his shirt.
“Shinki?” Gaara questioned.
The boy just replied with a hum, closing his eyes and getting comfortable. To say Gaara was shocked would be an understatement. Since he took Shinki in, the boy rarely ever let anyone touch him, let alone cuddle with him.
Gaara wrapped an arm around him, a small smile on his face. It didn't take long for Shinki to fall asleep in his father's arms.
When morning came, and Kankuro entered the room looking for Shinki, the child refused any questions.
