Chapter Text
Katsuki yanks his shirt off, tossing it onto a nearby bench inside the locker room. The cool air nips at his skin, causing him to shiver. He finished training early and just wanted to shower, eat, then get his ass in bed.
His feet slap against the tiled floor as he stumbles into the shower, reaching for the faucet handle. He turns it all the way to the left. Hot water cascades from the showerhead, immediately soaking his worn body. The steady sound of the water almost lulls Katsuki to sleep.
His head hits the cold tile in front of him as he slumps forward, letting out a long, exhausted sigh.
Images of Izuku flash through his mind. Memories of last night.
Everyone had been drunk, and Izuku took way too many shots.
A sick lump of guilt forms in Katsuki's stomach, settling in his gut like a twenty-pound weight.
He was drunk.
Katsuki wasn't.
He took advantage of Izuku. And he probably won't even remember it.
Katsuki squeezes his eyes shut, trying to push the memories away, but they only become clearer.
Izuku had just been so adorable. His cheeks flushed a deep, rosy pink, slurring his words, stumbling into Katsuki every few minutes.
Then they ended up in Deku's bed, sweaty and horny.
Katsuki's stomach twists.
Izuku had consented to everything, but he hadn't been mentally there. He'd been drunk—far too drunk—and Katsuki couldn't stop thinking about that.
Katsuki shuts off the shower and reaches for a towel, drying himself off. The white, fluffy material feels coarse against his skin as he drags it over his chest and shoulders.
He wraps the towel around his slim waist and grabs his discarded clothes to head to his room.
What if he remembers?
Katsuki flops onto his bed, hair still damp from the shower he took earlier. He feels his body relax against the mattress, the softness immediately pulling at him. His muscles ache from training, and his eyelids feel impossibly heavy. A long, tired yawn pulls at his face, making his eyes water.
I'm not even gay.
Katsuki groans in exhaustion, annoyance, and mostly defeat. The thoughts scratch at his brain, driving him insane, filling him with guilt. No matter how hard he tries to push them away, they keep coming back.
Deku's my best friend.
Tears well in the corners of his tired eyes. He squeezes them shut, trying to stop them, but a tear slips down his cheek anyway. Frustrated, he slams his fist into the mattress.
“I just want to sleep,” he chokes out, cringing at the fact he's crying—and talking to himself.
He rolls onto his back and stares blankly at the ceiling. Maybe if he just closed his eyes long enough, his brain would finally shut up. But every time he tried, his thoughts dragged him right back to last night.
The sun has begun to rise, orange light glowing through his window. Katsuki watches the light get brighter and brighter before deciding to get up and start his morning. Sleep clearly wasn't happening. He lifts his arm to check his watch. 6:24.
He heads out to the kitchen to get himself food. Or coffee. Coffee would be amazing. Katsuki rubs his eyes, feeling dead on his feet. Two whole days without sleep. His stomach feels empty, but he's too tired to care.
He grabs a cup and sets it on the counter before leaning against it, palms flat against the cool surface. His eyes flutter closed.
“Bakubro, you good?” Kirishima's voice jolts him back to reality.
Katsuki's eyes snap open. For a second, he doesn't even remember where he is.
“The hell do you want, shitty hair?”
“You were falling asleep right there.”
“I didn't sleep last night, so I'm a bit tired. Wouldn't you be?”
“Well, yea. Class starts in an hour. You wanna go on a run?”
Katsuki closes his eyes again and considers his options. Either go on a run with Kirishima or sit around. Sitting around probably meant thinking, and he really didn't want to think anymore.
He stands up straight and nods. “Sure.”
Katsuki is panting with each step, regretting not bringing a water. The morning sun beats down on his damp skin. He feels sweat dripping down his neck, and it's an annoying, gross sensation. His lungs burn with every breath, but he pushes through anyway.
“I can—ugh—see the exit up there,” Kirishima huffs, also out of breath.
“No shit. Fuck, I'm never running—hah—again in the morning,” Katsuki complains.
They finally reach the exit, slowing to a walk, and Kirishima reaches over to pat Katsuki's back. Katsuki dodges the pat and scoffs, wiping the sweat from his forehead with the back of his hand. He's still panting from the two-mile run, his legs feeling heavier than they did when they started.
At least for those 21 minutes, he was able to get his mind off things... but now he has to go to class.
And who sits in front of him?
“Izuku, please be quiet while the rest of the class is finishing their quizzes,” Aizawa demands, his voice quiet but firm.
The room finally goes silent. Now Katsuki might actually be able to finish the damn test. He looks back down at his paper and finishes writing his last answer. He sets his pencil down and exhales quietly, relieved to finally be done.
Katsuki glances up to see the back of Izuku's head. He's hunched over his notebook, presumably writing about stupid hero analysis.
Honestly, how does one manage to be so interested in heroes?
Katsuki stands, his chair scraping against the linoleum. He walks past Izuku's desk, his heart beginning to beat faster.
He makes it to Aizawa's desk and places his paper on top of Mina's.
He takes a deep breath and turns around.
He passes Shoto, Denki, Jiro, Shoji.
With the very few seconds he has, he studies Izuku's face.
He's fucking adorable. His eyebrows are furrowed as he scribbles whatever shit into his notebook, completely focused on whatever he's writing. His adorable freckles stand out against his cheeks. His soft pink lips that were wrapped around—
Katsuki's thoughts abruptly stop.
Izuku's eyes lift to meet Katsuki's. For a second, neither of them moves.
Katsuki feels his face heat.
Fuck.
He quickly looks away and shuffles back to his seat, dropping into his chair and staring straight ahead as if nothing happened. He cannot wait to get out of this damn classroom and go to lunch.
