Chapter Text
Life is hell.
You were done with life and just done with everything in general. There was no point in surviving anymore, the life had become wake up, make breakfast, eat, work, work, work, more cooking, eat and then sleep. Work was hell, your boss was an asshole, you had no friends because –surprise – you work from home, you thought it was a good idea at that moment, thought you would catch up with your hobbies, maybe go to the gym and work, maybe finally have the courage to date someone in real life but no, no. The work took most of your time and so did cooking. Who knew cooking would take so much time, with the cutting of vegetables, cooking and then finally the dish is ready and after eating you had to do the dishes and clean. Takeout sounded much better but no, you had to save the money to buy new diamond kits and anime merch. The Gojo Satoru body pillow was expensive and God knows how expensive those diamond kits were because you didn’t have good ones in India. Fuck everyone.
You signed and closed your eyes for a while, it was 11 am in the morning and you were already exhausted, at the age of 26 this was depressing. You checked your phone and realised your mom had called. Apparently you had kept the phone silent mode as always. You called her back.
“Hello, mom. What's up?” you asked, forcing cheerfulness into your voice.
“Don't what's up me. Why didn't you pick up?” Your mom's tone was unmistakable—I-know-you-screwed-something-up.
“I was in the meeting.” You lied.
Your mom sighed. “Why do they always have meetings? What did they discuss about this time? Who should I torture more?”
You laughed, your mom hated that her daughter’s company took most of her time. She continued, “If this goes on when will you date? When will you get married? What about my grandkids? You know that school friend of yours?Ahana? Anyways, I met her mother the other day and her daughter is getting married this December!”
You leaned in now, interested, “Ahana is getting married? I had no idea! Good for her. Who is the groom?”
Your mom voice dropped to a conspiratorial whisper. “It’s that boy from your school, they were dating and then agreed to marriage it seems. So nice na. Why didn’t you date someone in high school?”
You looked at your phone with disbelief, “I am sorry, am I still talking to my mother? The same woman who said talk to that boy again and I will show you chapal? The same woman who wouldn’t let me make guy friends and said this is the time to study and romance can wait and if I date there will be no Will for you?”
Your mom blew you off, “Ahana scored more than you and she still dated and you could have found someone in college, I was so flexible then. Instead of dating, all you do is moon over those cartoon boys! Don’t think I didn’t see your gallery and – she gasped – especially your apartment, filled with those boy toys! When will you find a real man?”
The boy toys your mom was talking about were the anime figurines of your beloved anime husbands, they were your only source of comfort and expensive at that one.
Your shelves were filled with novels, manga and figurines of Satoru Gojo, Geto Suguru, Rymonen Sukuna, Toji Fushiguro, Nanami Kento, Byakuya Kuchiki and so much more…
Speaking of which, your new Uchiha Madara figurine was coming in today, you had to make some space for it in your Naruto shelf.
You went to your room to look at them. Ah, they looked so beautiful! The real life boys don’t compare.
“Are you listening to me, woman?” Your mother interrupted your day dreaming.
“Yes! I am listening.” You paused, “Mom, I didn’t want to tell you this but I am a lesiban. I like girls. I am sorry.”
Your mom went quiet before exploding , “Your toys are all boys! You are not fooling anyone! How many times has this been? Do you take me as a joke —”
You held the phone away from your ear as your mom ranted about what a disappointed you have been and how she has no face to show to her relatives and that you needed to stop wasting money on useless things and start taking life seriously. You listened to all of this with a flat face; some lectures lose effort after you hear them every day.
Your mother didn’t understand how much you loved the world of anime and books, to disappear in another world and get to know these characters and fall for them – they were much better than real life people and you preferred anime to reality, you cried when Geto Suguru snapped, you laughed when Gojo did something stupid, you got mad at Toji for hurting Gojo – despite thirsting after him – you fell for Nanami Kento when he protected the students in Shubiya arc. Those people seemed more real to you than any other person. You had close friends, sure but you rarely met.
Your mom took a deep breath and said, “Did you eat the apple I sent you?”
You thought about the apples that had gone rotten and forgotten in your refrigerator and lied, “Yes.”
“Okay, take care. Bye.”
“Bye, mom.”
You closed the phone and sat for a while. Your eyes burned, this is what you get for re-reading Jujutsu Kaisen till 7 am and then crying about manga ending till 8am. You thought to yourself, Fuck you Gege Akutami, for making me fall in love and then killing everyone.
You really needed to eat, you also needed to go shopping for groceries, after changing your clothes, you set off to buy some vegetables, some fruits and tofu for protein. Everything was about protein these days. After paying for your purchase you went outside the store and saw that a child was playing with the ball. His father was busy scrolling through the phone.
It was a busy day and just when you were about to leave, you saw the child run in the middle of the road and a car racing towards the child. You didn’t think, you moved before you knew it and pushed the boy away and the speeding car ran over you and all you remember was pain.
Pain coursed through your entire body, you couldn't breath. Everything hurt and your last thought was, I could have grabbed him, I pushed him and now I die like an idiot.
When you open your eyes, there's nothing but white.
Not hospital white—sterile and clinical. This white is soft. It surrounds you completely, borderless and endless. You're lying on the floor—no, not lying. You're just... here. No bed, no surface, just white.
You look around and see a figure like thing, it is glowing white. You didn’t want to think what it reminded you of. It spoke in a calm and beautiful voice, “Child of mine, you have been a good one, saving that child. Helping your colleagues and juniors, you have earned good deeds. Tell me what you want and I will provide it to you.”
And you without thinking much, say. “Money.”
The figure pauses and says: “Money? Is that all you can think of? Think more, I can give you anything.”
You think some more and ask, “Am I dead? Did I die?”
The figure shook their head, “No, you are very much alive but in a coma.”
You sign in relief, “So, I will wake up right? Like when I am still 26? Not like 10-20 years later.”
The figure laughed, it sounded like bell chimes, “Yes, in a few days.”
You nodded and said again, “Yaa, then I want money.”
The figure looked almost disappointed, although you have no idea how you knew that, “Child, Money is material gain. Even if I gave it to you, the world would correct itself. You'd lose it.”
"Didn't you just say you could give me anything?" you ask.
The figure ignored you and continued, “Think big.”
You pause, anything huh? What did you really want? A man? Nah, they always disappoint. A car? Too much maintenance. A body that never changes despite what you ate? Yes!
You looked at the figure and it shook it’s head like they knew exactly what you was thinking and said: “No!”
You signed, honestly, you always wanted a good kiss in your life, you never kissed anyone. You felt attracted but never had the courage, you were always curious what kissing felt like. You once dreamt about kissing Satoru Gojo, it had been such a nice dream! Wait! You could go to JJK world! But would that be possible?
The figure suddenly leaned towards her, “Yes! It is possible.”
“Wait!? Really? So, can I like to go and meet Satoru Gojo, Geto Suguru and Toji and so many other people?”
They nodded and said, “Yes, you can. They live in parallel universe and I can send you there”
You can't believe it! This was actually happening.
You can’t help yourself and ask, “Can I get cool powers, change the plot, save everyone and kiss them all?”
They facepalmed, “No, you can't but you can meet them for five minutes each and talk to them.”
You tried again. “You said you could give me anything, you seemed so confident! What –”
They cut you off again, “That world isn't mine to change, I can only open a portal. The rest is theirs.”
You think this through, you could actually see them, meet them, touch them – with their consent of course – and even change the plot and save them. Maybe even kiss them! If they agreed. This is better than anything, no money in the world could buy this but there is still few things to ask –
“We don’t have much time,” They interrupted, “Tell me what you want.”
You nodded, “Send me there and can I meet them again and again for 5 minutes?”
They said, “You can only meet them for an hour, so you can meet them for 12 times.”
Just 12? Still better than before, you nod, “Okay, let’s do this.”
They leaned in and tapped your forehead. Wait, but where were they sending you?
They didn’t answer and everything went black.
You materialize standing in the middle of a fight. Like, literally, in the middle of two of the strongest people fighting.
The world tilts for a second before you get your bearings. Gojo is high—literally floating, his hand glowing red with cursed energy already building. He's about to fire Red directly at Toji. You can feel the power crackling in the air.
Toji is on the ground, bloodied, moving with tactical precision despite everything.
Both of them freeze when you appear.
“Where the hell did you come from?” Toji demands.
Gojo's blue eyes—wild, delirious—snap to you. He's lost in the high of his own power, barely holding it together.
You look down at your wrist that you have never seen before. The watch is beautiful, elegant, and you had no time to check it properly because it was already counting down.
5:00. 4:59. 4:58.
You stammer. “I—I didn't think—I didn't expect to be dropped here of all places.”
This was after Riko Amanai had died. She had died and Toji had delivered her to the Time Vessel people and Gojo had come to kill Toji and said his iconic line ‘Throughout the heaven and earth, I alone am the honorable one’ and Toji had revealed about his son Megumi. You did quick thinking and came to a decision. You had to save Toji, you had to at least try.
Your voice shakes. You swallow hard.
“Please stop fighting,” you say, louder now.
Both of them pause. Actually pause. Like they're waiting for you to make sense.
They come closer to check you over.
Toji's scarred face is wary. “Who are you? You have a white light on you.”
Gojo is still floating, his blue eyes intense and sharp despite the delirium. “There's no cursed energy in your body. Another heavenly restriction?”
You look at them both. God, they're beautiful. Toji is so hot—scarred, powerful, dangerous in a way that makes your breath catch in that black shirt. And Gojo... Gojo is cute. His blue eyes are stunning, even with the blood on his face, even with all that manic energy surrounding him. He's sixteen and looks like he could destroy worlds.
You force yourself to focus.
4:00. Great, you already wasted 45 seconds in checking them out.
You look directly at Toji. “I don't have time. Listen. Go and bring the body back and apologize to Gojo and Geto.”
“What body?” Toji asks, confused.
“Amanai Riko's body,” you say, the words tumbling out. “You have to bring her back. And apologize—both to them. You need to.”
Toji's expression hardens. “I don't know what you're talking about.”
“This man will kill you,” you say, pointing at Gojo. Your voice is urgent now, desperate. “He will fire Hollow Purple and you will die. Think about Megumi—think about what will happen to him if you leave him. Those horrible people in the Zenin clan will break his spirit!”
You didn’t mention Gojo adopting him because even if Gojo had adopted Megumi and helped him, Megumi had grown up being failed by every adult he knew, he thought himself as worthless. The kid was suicidal, he needed Toji.
Gojo's voice cuts in, sharp and almost aggressive. “How do you know about Hollow Purple?”
You ignore him completely. Your eyes stay locked on Toji's.
“What about Tsumiki?” you continue, pushing. “What will happen to her?”
“She has her mother,” Toji says coldly.
“No,” you say, and your voice breaks slightly. “She will leave. After you die here, she will run away. She had no one. Toji, she needs you. Megumi needs you.”
3:00
Toji's jaw tightens. But he doesn't move. Doesn't lower his weapon.
“What can I say to make you believe me?” you ask desperately. “Megumi needs you! Tsumiki needs you! Live a good life and apologize to Gojo and Geto now!”
He looks unconvinced. Stubborn. The Sorcerer Killer doesn't break for words.
He just stood there in silence and then moved to question, “So, what? He will be happy with the clan than he will be with me, they will –”
1:30
Your frustration boils over. You step forward and slap him—hard across the face. The sound echoes.
Gojo gasps, shocked with your sudden action.
“How could you?” you scream, your voice raw and shaking. “Do you not care about Megumi at all? How could you leave him like that? I'm telling you, he will kill you!” You point at Gojo. “And he has every right to. You killed a teenager. Do you have no shame?”
Toji's expression shifts. Just slightly. Like something inside him broke.
You continue, “What about Tsumiki? I am telling you her mother will leave her! They will be all alone with no one to look after them? Does that make you happy? What if the Zenin Clan takes Tsumiki as well? Don’t you know how they treat the people with no cursed energy and women?”
You push him hard, and he stumbles back.
“Bring the body back,” you say. “And beg for your life—”
0:30
“—Damn it! This is not what I wanted!” Your voice cracks completely. “I wanted a good first kiss! I wanted to kiss you both! Fuck you—”
You can't help yourself. You step forward and hug Gojo—this beautiful, broken, sixteen-year-old with too much power—and you wrap your arms around him, pulling him close.
“Please forgive him,” you whisper fiercely into his chest. “Find Geto. He needs you more than you know. Don't lose him. Promise me.”
The watch hits zero.
Everything dissolves to white.
You're back in the room with the white figure. It's waiting, patient.
“How did it go?” They ask gently.
You're dazed, still shaking, your heart racing. “I didn't even get to check them out properly.”
Back on that street, Toji and Gojo stand in stunned silence.
The air is thick. Toji's hand is raised, like he's reaching for something that's already gone. His cheek is red from your slap, your slap had actually hurt him – him, he had the most durable body known to anyone. Gojo was standing there, his delirious energy completely shattered, his blue eyes wide and confused – you had just passed his infinity.
They exchange a look.
“Did she…” Gojo starts, his voice small.
“Yeah,” Toji says slowly, almost to himself. “She said she wanted a kiss.”
Gojo stares at the empty space where you were, processing.
And Toji—Toji looks down at his hands, at the weapon still gripped in his palm, and something has shifted.
Something fundamental.
