Chapter Text

Despite what he'd been told,

At the crossroads, Avery stopped.

He let himself drown in his own pain.

Kind of poetic if you don't think about it.

You don't think about the Pain,

The Grief,

the end of his friend before he even got to call him that,

The utter pity of it all.

Tragic, his betrayal, truly it was.

Truly sad.

He was right, nobody really cared that he was gone.

His estranged mother only cried for facebook posts.

His friends- no, acquaintances- were a bit disappointed they lost an SMP member and they wouldn't have anyone to leech alcohol Avery never drank himself off of.

Did Avery really have no-one who cared about him?

Well he did,but he was gone.

You know him and D3rLord3, but Avery?

Avery knew him as the one who saved him, the only one who actually liked him for HIM.

Not the aesthetic of a son.

Not an unwilling free dealer.

HIM.

And he was gone.

He still is.

But so is Avery.

Maybe, this was the best ending.

Maybe this is the only ending where they stayed together.

Maybe Derek saw this ending and knew it was the best ending for them, or it was the best ending for himself.

He was only human, after all.

Or maybe there's no point psychoanalyzing people who are gone.

Maybe we should just let them rest.

Like they wanted.

The ending that saves millions is what they wanted in the end, after all.

Goodbye, Derek and Avery.

Rest.

Rest forever knowing you saved us all.

Celebrate in the afterlife is there is one, and finally find your peace.

And finally rest.

sorry dudes
