Heero knowing Odin will have difficulty with chopsticks, choosing a place that needs them anyway, and being proved right and finding it amusing is just so excellent. What a little brat, love him. And figuring out a way to talk about the stuff without talking about it involves some delicate word work, good job kid. You're gonna scare the shit out of your dad when he learns more about what went on in your life. Which is good, you should know that shit was awful and unacceptable.
Odin getting Heero back for trolling him about the chopsticks with telling embarrassing stories about him as a kid that he cannot respond to without fully blowing their cover is so funny.
Heero wants to be in the skyyyyy, he longs to fly on his own. Awww.
Heero absolutely picked this restaurant specifically because Odin would struggle with the chopsticks, heh. He was always better with them than him, only he's had even more time to improve on his technique.
Duo's better at subterfuge than Heero is, but Heero isn't terrible at it! So he can do a pretty decent job of talking around words that attract attention such as "gundam", "mobile suit", and "terrorist", heh. Odin's gonna have nightmares when he starts getting some proper details about what Heero was put through during his training. And his reactions will do a lot, honestly, to affirm to Heero how much of it was awful and wrong. Like, he's got a vague idea on most of it, but that'll provide some much-needed clarity.
Odin really was reminiscing about that space flight! Choosing to share that story with other people was the trolling, heh. Heero had a delightfully teenager-style reaction to it... or would have, if he could have actually emoted. Heh.
Heero misses flying so much! Talk about representing the ultimate freedom, right?
