  1. He really is absolutely infatuated~ The roses help Carmine manage his and temper/LV, so he's definitely more regulated in this chapter despite being sleep deprived.

But why would Lux tell Poppy when he can just try to fix it alone and suffer in silence?? Orz

    1. Love the roses for him ❤️
It’s pretty instantaneous that the roses could be a good mechanic for showing how Carmine is getting along. Especially the special underground transplant. Damn, when he gives it that little pep talk, “You’re the last one standing.” it was like he was talking to himself.

(The whole time he’s talking to the rose, really. And it’s really kinda sad because he tells himself to be content that he ever got to touch Lux at the same time that he’s petting these exaggeratedly blooming roses on a bush that’s struggling to survive. So he’s likely fiddling with chemical fertilizers to force them to bloom- like his tough guy front as a mob boss- but he should really be cutting off the flowers before they bloom so the bush can focus all that energy on recovering.)

The soul mark thing is interesting. The theory of it being caused by Carmine being technically artificial didn’t sound debunked, even though eventually Patches came in to the picture. So is that implying that Patches has the same perceived defect (also being artificial) and his soul mark says Papyrus?

Nice to see that Carmine is still turning over the question of how the hell Lux exists in the back of his mind.

Because telling Poppy would prepare him to be on the look out for danger if Antony ever sends thugs with baseball bats his way. But I’m here for the angst all of Lux’s sneaking around is going to cause. For such a smarty pants (ex)lab guy he sure can’t fathom consequences 😂
