   I was just thinking about this too. I've definitely seen an increase in spambot comments from handles that have like 2 works in progress that are clearly AI-generated slop. It has me questioning the 10 million users number too unfortunately. I report aggressively and AO3 has been great about responding to flagged comments/accounts. It sucks though.

      I report spam and just mute what I suspect is slop, because I cannot prove it.

      Good point on the users! I mentioned in my comment that I doubted the legitimacy of all 17 million of these fics as well. It would be nice to get a response on my end or at least see some sort of statistic. Glad they're responding to you, at least.
