I've been wanting to explore it in greater depth for a while, and to consider what Gwindor might have been thinking during his ordeal. He had a lot to deal with, after all! And I thought it was a heroic effort that deserved some love.
Yes, Gwindor is definitely trying to do his best and help a fellow person in pain—in spite of his own pain. And that's a really lovely quote, thank you. I can definitely see how it ties into this story. Even immortal Elves can find themselves feeling like there's not enough in life.
