I was wondering if anyone was going to comment on that. Than you for the kind words; as it happens I'd been worrying about how well I was integrating them. It's kind of a tricky balance: Can't have them too prominent, lest they take over the spotlight, but I can't ignore them, or there's no point in their presence.
I’d say it’s been pretty natural, it didn’t give me any sort of whiplash remembering they were here from the last chapter or two and the way they interacted with the others felt feasible; I loved the Strega bit. I’d say you’re doing great, I also loved those couple moments where Laura remembered her time in Ymir and the implied jealousy. I’m here for the ship first and foremost and you deliver with that aspect, along with enough divulgence from canon to make the fic as a whole worth reading. I’ve wanted to play around with the whole potential childhood friend thing as I really like the concept in any ship, I’m writing one for my top 1 ship slowly but surely, and the way you’re making it feel natural is great. All in all, good work.
Hehe, yeah, I've only been through the Sky arc once, but I recall Estelle's obsession with Stregas. Excellent opportunity for comedy.
As regards the main pairing, I may have mentioned this before, it was originally conceived as a postwar Rean/Laura one-shot. Then I realized I needed to do a full novelization to do the pairing justice, show what they've been through together if you will.
