    I'm glad you could engage with the story through the little gaps! As a reader first and writer second, I enjoy that too. I'm actually thinking of a sequel (I already wrote smt for it) bc I had too many ideas swirling in my brain abt this au, so if I end up writing it some of those questions will get an answer, but in the meantime it's up to interpretation :D

    I somehow ended up writing a very Will-centric fic. I didn't use the "required unrequited love" tag because that's not the point of the story, Will doesn't doubt mike's love for him, it's not even explicitly addressed. Will's just so wrapped up in his own emotions he doesn't even seem to question if mike loves him back, although the signs are there, so the answer if obvsly yes 🙄 I believe it all comes down to the last line: it's not "why don't you love me?" but "why don't you see that I love YOU". I thought it was an interesting shift in perspective!

    My friend to whom I gifted the fic said it was innovative and I curled up on the floor at that, so I'm really happy you enjoyed it too 👉🏻👈🏻

    Also I had no idea that mike's original bullying was due to a birthmark! It just amuses me endlessly the idea of two adults staring at a child to figure out how to best bully him lol
