Comment on PMD: The Arceus Slayers

    Well, this is a story I probably should've gotten to reading a long time ago but times are busy and ever-changing. Anyways, I'm very impressed with the atmosphere of PMD: The Arceus Slayers! It's definitely a lot more modernised and humanized than most other PMD settings, what with the trams, actual running electricity and entire universities and companies competing with each other to take the crown. It's almost as if the human world suddenly all got turned Pokemon, it's a neat take on the concept! Though, I can't help but be a little unnerved by all the seedy undertones you've done quite a good job at sowing even throughout the first 4 chapters. From uni students selling illegal 'seeds' to the roughhousing and general crappy language everyone seems to speak to each other with... even if this city is modernised, its citizens don't seem satisfied! I wonder why...
    As for the characters, I'm probably not far enough to really understand most of their quirks and traits, but I definitely feel bad for poor Ruby, getting kicked around like a soccer ball in chapter 3 must have been rough, but from her descriptions she seems surprisingly used to it. Considering the only problems she walked away with are a few bruises and a brief blackout, she's definitely tougher than her timid outward appearance would entail, I just wish she kinda acted a bit stronger. But if it's a reserved and determined character who gradually develops to stand up more for herself over time kinda trope you're going for with the Cherrim here, I would say you're right on the money!
    I guess for constructive criticism... Maybe focus a bit more on Alice? I'm aware the meeting was brief and Ruby was already in a hurry, but I'm excited to learn more about her, I can even picture her with a notebook detailing the anatomy of every single Pokemon's species and her frantically trying to flip to 'Cherrim' to see if Ruby could actually eat berries or not so to cure her. Wow, I worded that horribly haha!
    Sorry if this was mostly just a ramble and a half, I don't usually leave comments but your story has already been quite captivating so far to the point where I can't help but chime in! Keep up the good work! I'll be chugging along through the chapters one at a time.

      You're on point with a lot of things actually- I'm pretty sure it's mentioned once or twice that the former humans quickly modernized/urbanized pokemon society when they arrived, but the pokemon themselves and a lot of original culture haven't changed much at all.

      Ruby is definitely a tough one, but that's good for character. Also don't worry, Alice isn't the one that needs focusing on just yet ;)

      I've been going through major writers block since posting the recent chapter, so I'm really happy to see this comment. Glad you enjoyed :D
