    Yay! I’m glad to see an update and it’s super sweet that the group is positively affecting Chilchuck. I am a bit scared on how us commenters inspired you…but I’m looking forward to seeing what else you have in store!

    It’s interesting to consider how Chilchuck’s small progress here might fall apart. In this chapter, he’s accepted that these people care about him. However, he has some reasonable denial on if they truly care about the real him, given how frequently he is misperceived. We see in the previous chapter that he loses the energy to protest Senshi’s mistaken idea that he’s a child. Here he struggles to wrap his head around Marcille caring about an old man like him…what if he makes the leap to conclude Marcille and the others don’t actually care about ”old man Chilchuck”. Instead, they only care about the cute childish idea of him. This could be devastating for him because his set of behaviors originated with a very adult conflict.
