Crying. Screaming. Losing my mind. I am absolutely in love with this chapter!!!
Akechi was in so much denial I wanted to shake some sense into him. I also really like the comparison he makes to Andromeda. It’s very fitting and I like his argument that Haru doesn’t need a hero, she’s happy with herself.
And I like that Akechi says that Ren is the first tie that he plans on breaking. He knows that it’s gonna be difficult to fully leave Haru!
I love that Ren immediately snitches and Haru comes back for him. And I love the way you write Akechi, with his self-loathing. Genuinely, the moment where he grabs Haru’s collar and demands to know why she doesn’t hate him when she should is another moment that’s gonna stick with me.
I’m seriously collecting Akeharu moments you write in my head that are constantly rotating around. The gloved hand that asks her to dance, the scene in the helicopter, and now him grabbing he’d collar before he starts crying. I just want to shake these scenes between my teeth like a dog! They’re all so good!
And Haru’s response is great and perfect and no notes!! I just love it!!
I love her putting his head on her lap and him returning the favor by carrying her into the house!!! It’s the little ways that they show that they care!!!
And the ending!! Of course he has to (briefly) leave her again! But then he just leaves to go get the vase!! Because they’re the only thing he really needs before fully moving in with Haru! (At least that’s how I’m taking it!) And the flowers are still alive! It seems like a good sign that they’re gonna make it in the end!!! And Haru tells him thd othef meaning of black roses! I need go lay down, it’s just so amazing!!
This was the ending I was hoping for after finishing Flight of the Crows!! I am so happy that this chapter exists!!!! And that was amazingly written, as always!!! <3<3<3<3<3
