Comment on In defense of earnestness

  1. I LOVE THIS SO MUUUUUCH

_And while he worked on their never-ending pile of correspondence, she was busy with palace arrangements for the coming winter: setting aside hibernation areas, making arrangements for ill or disabled young who would need warmer areas to heal, and ensuring that those affected by a recent blight could receive enough food to fill their winter stores._
Wow I never thought about this but OF COURSE some Narnians hibernate. Do young non-hibernating Animals dare each other to knock on a Bear's door in the winter? What does the hibernation wing of the castle sound like in winter?

I love all the details around Cor, Corin, and Lune, and the idea that Narnia is a good training ground for Cor!

_The Archen delegation was four men in Archenland’s colors and the golden-haired Prince, who already looked more comfortable on a horse than Edmund remembered. The closer they got, the more Edmund had to remind himself not to be surprised that twins were, in fact, identical. The boy looked unsettlingly like Corin._
THE TWIST THAT IT IS CORIN OH MY GOD.

I really love your characterization of Corin here. He's still mischievous, and of course he's up to something, but he is also a royal prince with (some) understanding of the weight of his role.

    1. I am also curious about hibernation! And what did that mean for those Animals during the Long Winter?? So much to explore here!

I'm so happy you liked Corin here! He's an agent of chaos, of course, but he's also growing up and he's clever in his own way. He's certainly very level-headed when it comes to dealing with Cor in HHB (even if he's driving the adults crazy), so he isn't ALL mischief!
