Summary
“So… Uncle or cousin?” Since he didn’t want to say it, I would.
“Cousin.” The word was so quiet that I almost didn’t hear it. “And I did try to kill you a couple of times. I just… wasn’t very good at it. If I tried now, I might actually manage it.”
He wasn’t looking at me, but I raised my eyebrows anyway. “Somebody’s still trying to kill me.” That was as close as I was going to get to saying he was lying about this, too.

Summary
Merlin had left notes. Because of course he did. The first one ended with, “I’m sorry,” and started with, “All of the manuals are in the red cabinet against the left wall. You can’t miss it.”
Since it was the only red thing in a blue glowing cave, I really couldn’t. I wasn’t grateful then, but those fucking manuals kept me from breaking anything I needed to stay alive. They also gave me something to focus on apart from my realization that this wasn’t a joke.

Summary
I ignored Merlin for the next twenty minutes while I got myself cleaned and clothed. I didn't close any doors. I changed in front of him.
He knew enough about Rebma to know that I was being rude as fuck and enough about me to know that it was entirely deliberate. We both also knew that there was a better than even chance that I could kill him before he killed me.
I'd certainly die of it, of course, but I could.
I didn't offer him food, either, which was rude as fuck at his end of the universe, especially so because I only had food that he'd provided. I was being petty, but Merlin needed to know how angry I was.
No, he already knew. I was mostly just announcing that I wasn't ready to lie about it yet.
