Kaika is a Naruto AU after the war, that aims to follow the events of 699 into a new era. It's divided in three parts, Kaika Saisei being its first part which is (mostly) a Sakura Haruno-centric story. Besides the central focus of the story, the narrative slowly starts treating themes/plots that were ignored by canon.

The second part's aim is to deal mostly with one of the most basic plots of Naruto's story which was dropped from the narrative in canonverse: the ninja system.

Of course, the third part, which will act more like an epilogue will deal with the resolve of said plot and tie in other loosened ends.

When I started thinking about Kaika and its plot, I thought to myself 'Okay, what was it about Naruto's story that I considered not okay in execution?"

And there was Sakura, Neji's death and the ninja system plot being downright ignored. On the other hand we got a lot of other things that weren't so relevant to the plot - like the Otsutsukis, for example.

So my biggest challenge was, how do I mix all these apparently irrelevant things to the OG plot of Naruto, in a way that connects everything to everything?

Well, that's how I came up with Kaika Saisei, at first.

Then, given the amount of information I gathered and my other unrelated mini projects that connected to the ideas of this one, I decided to make Kaika an AU of itself, divided in 3 parts.

So yeah, this is how the Kaika AU was born.
