To Rhaenyra, the greatest of all her advantages, was her husband. It was often said that Lord Harwin Strong would lay his life at his wife’s feet gladly but she had never expected to ask such a sacrifice of him. She had never expected to turn to him one day and realise that she would have to ask him to go to war for her, for their children.

Rhaenyra chuckled weakly as her husband rose from the bed where he was sat next to her and began to softly rock her. After three sons, Harwin had learnt how to soothe crying babes.
Aemma resisted all attempts at first but eventually began to settle once Harwin offered his pinky for her to grab at her. Or perhaps she had simply exhausted herself. She held his smallest finger in both her hands, looking up at him like he was the first big mystery of her short life.
