Summary
There was a tug on Obi-Wan's robes. He startled and looked down into a pair of the biggest, bluest eyes he'd ever seen. There was a tiny orange Togruta youngling at his feet, barely coming up to his knees, with stubby blue-and-white lekku framing her face. She whimpered, eyes brimming with unshed tears, and held up two fat little arms in the universal request for up.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is minding his own business in the Temple when he's suddenly accosted by a wide-eyed Togruta toddler who doesn't speak a word of Basic. He's pretty sure she's hungry, though.

Obi-Wan rolled his shoulders and straightened his spine. The feeling of being watched intensified and split off into something more tangible; he cracked open his eye and glanced to the right. A bush of aura blossoms shook and he heard a distinct, tiny, ekekeke noise come from somewhere within. He bit down a smile and pretended not to hear it. The bush growled and shook again, then an orange and blue blur launched from within the iridescent flowers and landed on him.
Obi-Wan's morning meditation is interrupted by a little Togruta youngling who wants some attention.

The woman descending the ramp didn’t look like any senator Ahsoka had ever seen; any person, really, at least not in real life. Senator Amidala was beautiful, with delicate features and dark, magnetic eyes that stood in contrast to her creamy skin. Her outfit was dark, tight-fitting, cinched at the waist with wide silver bands that gleamed like twin moons. The fabric clung to her like the rain didn’t dare soak her through, and the hem fluttered just above her boots—soft charcoal with deep plum undertones that shimmered when the gray light caught it right. Her hair was swept up in a crown of twists and coils, pinned with something gleaming. And around her, clear and confident through the Force, shimmered her dusky rose-colored aura.
Ahsoka meets Padmé Amidala for the first time—and notices something her Master definitely doesn't want her to see.

Summary
The simulations had prepared him for a lot of scenarios. Living with the burden that his baby Commander had died to buy him time to complete a mission instead of the other way around wasn't one of them, and when it turned out that she had gotten away from Grievous Rex had realized that she was more than just the student of the Jedi he had been assigned to. He'd been waiting for her to prove that she had what it took to actually lead men into battle, and she had. And not only that, she was willing to sacrifice herself for them. She was special, damn it, and even if she was a reckless little shit who scared the life out of him with her stunts, there was nowhere else on the battlefield he'd rather be than watching her tiny back.
Rex has been stoically tolerating being bossed around by his General's youngling for the past month, but after the events of Skytop Station, he has an important question to ask her.

Skywalker and Kix locked panicked eyes. "Nothing! Nothing's wrong with her. Why would you say that?" Skywalker said in a voice half an octave higher than it normally was.
"She missed her scheduled Ryl exam two hours ago and I've commed her six times. What. Happened."
"Oh, right." Skywalker coughed to stall. "She had a bad reaction to the ration bars. Kix gave her some medicine, she's sleeping it off."
Kix had time in the very pregnant silence to admire the fact that it wasn't technically a lie.Ahsoka has a rather embarrassing reaction to the ration bars her Master left behind for her on her recon mission.

The game was called limmie in the core, bolo-ball in the rest of the galaxy, but in Mandalorian space it was known as meshgeroya: the beautiful game. Although metropolitan Coruscant didn't seem to give much of a damn about it, Rex had yet to meet a brother who didn't have a hardwired love for the full-contact sport. All he could figure is that it must have been a Prime trait, like the sweet tooth they all seemed to have inherited.
The clones blow off some steam in the hangar of The Resolute, and Ahsoka learns something new about Humans.

Ahsoka was obviously overwhelmed if she was pulling all-nighters. She needed a hand with her duties as a battalion Commander. It wasn't all charging across enemy lines with a lightsaber. In fact, most of her duties were off the battlefield: submitting combat reports and statistics, creating simulations, approving requisition orders, equipment inspections, mediating and filtering trooper matters for the General… And that was on top of all of her Jedi osik. She was too young and inexperienced to be responsible for so much.
Rex couldn't ask for a better battalion commander than Ahsoka Tano, but she is only fifteen. She could use a hand.
