Summary
Qui-Gon has a tendency to bring home pathetic lifeforms, but his involvement usually ends there. The Maverick, Master of the Living Force, is really not the best at follow-through. After years with his master, Obi-Wan Kenobi has adapted to Qui-Gon’s habits. But a slave boy from Tatooine is not remotely similar to an exotic carnivorous plant or a misunderstood kept pet monster.
On the journey back to Coruscant, Obi-Wan Kenobi starts doing what he always does: handling the numerous crucial details of making Qui-Gon’s latest spacebrained adoption work (or, at least, conveying the newest pathetic lifeform to its best sanctuary, preserve, or forever home). This time, Qui-Gon notices. So does the pathetic lifeform. And Anakin Skywalker’s new forever home might be with Obi-Wan himself.
An AU where Obi-Wan Kenobi gets a little more credit from the start; the Force likes Obi-Wan and Anakin together; everyone gets a choice; and after the occupation, Padmé pays her planet’s debts in a way that matters.

Summary
When Qui-Gon Jinn took Anakin Skywalker from his home planet of Tatooine, Obi-Wan Kenobi, as usual, took responsibility for taking care of his master's latest project. Anakin Skywalker promptly turned around and adopted Obi-Wan, and Obi-Wan has the intuitively created Force bond to prove it.
Knighted after formally sitting only half his trials, Obi-Wan has come around to the idea of teaching Anakin Skywalker. But Anakin has more in store for Anakin than even a joyride on a fighter in the middle of a battle--in both lamentably exciting and predictably mundane ways. Teenagers are teenagers, after all.
Meanwhile, Qui-Gon Jinn adjusts to life after the injury he sustained on Naboo, and Yan Dooku realizes what he has done and almost did. There can be no going back, no redemption--but perhaps there is still a way for him to serve his conscience and the sheep of the shadowed Republic, unaware of the monster killing them from the top.
Continuing on from And Who's Going to Feed Him, an AU where Obi-Wan and Anakin started off on the right foot and Qui-Gon lived through the Battle of Naboo and inadvertently changed the face of the galaxy writ large--though perhaps not as much as his old master might have wished.

Summary
When the Jedi left her planet after the Battle of Naboo, Padmé Amidala’s war was just beginning. The Trade Federation’s occupation was brief but eventful. Her planet and her people are devastated. Padmé has a city to repair, an alliance with the Gunguns to foster, and policies to promote within the Republic Senate to ensure that this never happens again. The goodwill of the Republic Senate is fading fast. The credits are dwindling fast. And her term as queen will soon come to an end.
Shmi Skywalker has been freed from slavery by her son’s dear friend. She has chosen to use her gifts in the employ of her young patroness. But the Naboo are skeptical of outsiders just now, and it is difficult to make a whole new life on a new planet in a new culture.
Shmi and Padmé forge forward together in an AU where we care about the good work Padmé must have done after the Battle of Naboo and all she sacrificed to do it, where the quiet strength Shmi Skywalker had to move on after Anakin is vitally important, and we’re filling the pages of the fic and the halls of the galaxy with women supporting women—as well as the toxic backstabbing and backroom dealing that makes a political story worth the reading.
