  Summary

  The Battle of Mission City unveiled the existence of the Transformers—a race of colossal alien robots—the destruction reducing downtown Mission City to ashes. The aftermath left many in mourning and rendered downtown an inhospitable wasteland. Delilah Goodman bore the brunt of the loss, her life upended at the epicenter of the clash for the AllSpark. Now, two years later, after enduring intensive care, she strives to rebuild her existence, but visions haunt her: a malevolent face torments her, its name inscribed in unreadable glyphs; machines animate with her touch; her mind shifts back and forth as two facets of her existence fight for control; and a mysterious voice beckons her. She seeks aid from the very being who brought his war to Earth: Optimus Prime. The Fallen, harbinger of doom, sets his vengeful gaze upon Earth. With Megatron's return, he dispatches him to capture Sam Witwicky, who has absorbed the AllSpark's knowledge. The Fallen gives a prophetic warning; another exists on Earth, harboring the AllSpark's power, who might just hold power to sway Megatron himself. Megatron descends upon Earth to culminate the grand scheme he ignited eons ago, but the other human, empowered by the AllSpark, finds Megatron instead.
