Summary
Scar let out a heavy sigh, starting to push away from his desk before pausing for a moment, shaking his head, then leaning forward again, his quill continuing to glide along the parchment. He wasn’t ready yet, surely whoever had come to collect him could wait a few minutes longer. Or a few hours. Or a few years, actually.
It wasn’t as if he didn’t want to go on this trip. He knew just how important it was, and how privileged he was that he got to go on it, but-
Well, it wasn’t quite what he’d been hoping for. For a powerful mage such as himself (or, well - future powerful mage, that is) this was perhaps the most important journey he’d make in his lifetime. His pilgrimage to the Crystal Fountain, the source of magic itself, the very journey he’d spent his entire life working towards. He should be excited. He was excited.
At least, he had been, until he found out that he wasn’t to make the journey alone.
Or, in which the vex prince sets out on a magical journey of a lifetime, and an unassuming avian knight is dragged along for the ride.
(Or, in which strangers find love in the unlikeliest of places.)Series

Summary
“You know, you should consider yourself lucky that I even agreed to come along on this trip,” Impulse said, folding his arms over his chest. “Folks back at the workshop are probably pissed that I’m gonna be gone for so long. You do realise I’ve got important work going on there too, right?”
Gem huffed, rolling her eyes. “You don’t have to come, if you don’t want to,” she said, though she was very quickly losing attention again, eyes wandering back to the scene playing out behind Impulse.
A lady at the bar, with long, dark hair and a blood red cape, weaving through the crowd with a smirk plastered across her face. Here alone, by the looks of it, which would’ve concerned Gem, considering how rowdy this tavern tended to get as the night drew on, but it looked like she could probably handle herself. An axe swung at her side, glistening in the dim lighting, and that spoke for itself, really. She must’ve been a traveller, rather than someone from the city. That was probably a good sign.
…she’d probably be fine.
Or, in which a witch meets a beautiful stranger, and can't quite seem to get rid of her. (Not that she'd want that.)
