Summary
Two months to insert himself into the organization. Two months of investigations, of careful inquiries, of timing his own arrival against that of the real leader of this operation. Two months of foul little people and watching sentient beings disappear into a system he knew he could not yet upend and doing his best to remember the way Xanatos had spoken, of finally locating the flagship, chilchinna musk in every nook and cranny and probably sinking into Obi-Wan’s very pores—and confirming that the real inventories would be on board.
Two months of this, and Obi-Wan was so very, very close to being done with the whole business.
So, of course, his former Commander and a handful of his former men had crashed his undercover operation in what Obi-Wan had, optimistically, been thinking would be his very last week. Obi-Wan genuinely didn’t know what he’d expected.
