Summary
Jean Moreau, despite himself, still wants things. He wants to leave: he needs to drag his broken body back down to its place. He was unconscious when they took him from the Nest, but he knows that won’t spare him the punishment, and the sooner he gets it over with the sooner he gets back on the court. This is a mountain Jean knows how to climb. It’s a tall peak, and he needs to get started. He needs to prove his value, needs to prove his loyalty. This next year is going to be brutal.
Jeremy Knox likes to win, and even if he can't parallel park in less than fifteen attempts he's finally got his meds figured out and he's got friends who care enough to make him clean his room. And thanks to Kevin, the Trojans are about to poach the best backliner in the league, so he's finally got it all figured out. This next year is going to be awesome.
Kevin is going to be watching this through his fingers.

“Snagging the handcuff key from the counter by the sink, Kevin drifts forwards, his feet ghosting over the black tile. It’s been long enough that Jean’s hair has dried, loose dark curls against his forehead. The impulse to run his fingers through it is so overwhelming that Kevin shivers, and he sees the spark of amusement in Jean’s eyes when he catches it.“
After Riko's finished, Kevin goes to Jean.
This oneshot is a prequel of sorts to my ongoing chaptered fic, "This Time, With Feeling." You do NOT need to have read TTWF to read this, they stand alone, but some parts of this will be spicier if you have.
