He’s sitting on the floor of the kitchen, knees tucked into himself and his arms tightly held around them, as he listens to the ring. He breathes a sigh at the sound, grateful that not everything’s been ruined for him.
He sits, in the quiet of the eerily silent morning, much too dark for it to even be considered morning, as the phone rings once, twice, thrice, counting each round.
… four… five… six… seven…
Before the call ends up being sent to voicemail, he hears it click.
Immediately, he asks, voice small and hopeful, “Shouto?”
“Who the fuck is this?” The voice on the other end demands, and. This isn’t Shouto. The voice is more masculine, clipped, and a touch irritated, albeit smooth in its delivery. It feels as if he’s one misstep from being hung up on.
Or; A desperate Touya tries to get in contact with his youngest brother, Shouto. Instead, someone else picks up the phone.
