“Ooooh where are you two going?” they heard Quinlan taunting from the water, Anakin laughed and squeezed Obi-Wan’s hand affectionately.
They walked in silence down the beach, the opposite direction of everyone else. Surrounded by the sound of crashing waves, birds and the distant laughing and shouting of their peers.
On their one year Anniversary Anakin and Obi-Wan and the rest of the gang gather on Naboo to celebrate, resulting in a casual beach day.

“Aww well, aren’t you always telling me I’m boring and need to have more fun?” Obi-Wan countered, “Hmm?” he nudged Anakin playfully.
“Not at my expense.” Anakin said quietly, he was looking down and picking at his cuticles.
Obi-Wan suddenly felt horrible for going on so long, Anakin was in a good mood before and now he looked genuinely upset.
“I’m really sorry,” he reached out and tucked some wet hair behind Anakin’s ear, “I’m an idiot, you’re right, I need to be mature.” Obi-Wan berated himself, what a foolish way for an old man to behave.

Quinlan and Anakin work out together
Quinlan had seen Anakin shirtless in the training rooms between missions before. They hadn’t interacted much back then, but Quinlan had noticed how in shape Anakin was. He'd been thin with hard packed muscle, not an ounce of fat on his body and the endurance to spar for hours.
Quinlan immediately felt bad, he’d just wanted a fun workout buddy, he hadn’t meant to make Anakin feel bad about himself.

Anakin tried to quiet his mind and just count the reps, concentrate on his form and the way his muscles felt. But the longer he went on and the harder it got he began to berate himself in his head.
Pathetic. Weak. Worthless.
Not even halfway through his set Anakin was soaked in sweat, he could feel it drenching his hair, he gasped and strained, almost crying from how hard it was. A simple set he used to be able to with ease.
