Summary
“You know,” Bobby said, looking thoughtful, “I might have a solution for you. There’s a childcare center near here called Save the Day. They aren’t open overnight, of course, but they are open until 9 with the option to stay a bit late if a shift runs long.”
Eddie stared at Bobby in wonder. “Holy shit. I should have told you about Chris during my interview for the station, that’s perfect! Wait– How much does it cost? I know childcare isn’t exactly cheap, and LA is already kind of expensive–”
“Everyone at the 118 gets a discount. Perks of having an in at the daycare.”

“So, where exactly are we going?” Buck asked, looking out the window as they left as if he was going to be able to determine their route from his apartment’s parking lot.
“Somewhere you’re gonna like, Buck. Promise,” Eddie responded, taking one of his hands off the wheel briefly to squeeze Buck’s.
He had done several hours of anxious research looking for the perfect place for them to go on their first date. Hen had assured him it was sweet when she and Chim caught him doing just that at the firehouse, but Chimney’s fake vomiting begged to differ.

Summary
Defeated, Buck pulled over and twisted around in his seat.
“Okay,” he said, making eye contact with Chris when he looked up, “no water park, that’s fine! Where else do you want to go? Anywhere in LA, it’s our day!” Chris tapped his chin thoughtfully, looking out the window at where they could see the beach through some buildings. “The pier!” he declared determinedly, and Buck huffed out a laugh.
“The pier it is, then.”
