“You know I’d do anything for you, right?” He asked, his voice quiet, soft. There was a silence in the room, a tightrope he felt like he was walking, even if he wasn’t sure why.
“Anything?” Charles whispered after a moment, as he seemed to realize that this wasn’t just an average conversation between the two of them. Something about it almost made Erik uneasy but he started it and he fully intended to carry it through, no matter what.
A small, almost uncomfortable laugh left him, “I was going to say I would kill for you, but I think we both already know that,” He admitted, quietly. He took a deep breath before adding, “I think I’m in too deep, sometimes. I’ve realized that, for you, I’d even give up killing.”

Summary
Erik wasn’t sure that there was any one of his babies that he could say took after him, and that was something he was fine with.
Honestly, he was. They all looked like their Daddy and he had hoped that would be the case. Nina and Anya and their brown hair, Jean and Lorna’s face shape, their little noses and mouths that seemed to look just like Charles.
The whole way through Charles’s pregnancy, it was something they talked about. Who did they think their babies were going to look like with Erik insisting Charles and Charles insisting Erik. But now they had their answer.
Or so Erik thought, but apparently everyone didn’t see things the way he did.

Summary
All of that to say, Erik wasn’t expecting anything to be different when he went into the nursery that morning. He expected Nina to be awake and Jean and Lorna still asleep. Just like always.
What he wasn’t expecting was to walk into the room and see Nina lying in her bed with her little arms wrapped around something that Erik certainly didn’t remember being in her crib the night before when they put her to bed.

Summary
Erik is taken to the hospital for what turns out to be appendicitis. Though there’s something else uncovered during some of the tests that neither Charles nor Erik expected to find. Something that could certainly bring a change to their family, if they decide to go through with it.

“Okay,” The guy said, looking at the screen, “There are your intestines and…” He trailed off as the wand moved lower. A brief look of confusion crossed his face as he looked from the screen to Erik, then back to the screen. Then he seemed to clear the expression and go back to work. After another moment, he spoke up again, “There we are. That would be the issue.”Next to him, Erik could help Charles release a breath, as though that was the worst of the situation. To Erik though, it was just confirmation that he could need surgery when he was hoping it would be literally anything else, and that wasn’t to mention the worry in the back of his mind from the nurses reaction to whatever he was seeing. Something was clearly wrong.
