Usually, when they're tangled up, it's behind locked hotel doors, during heats, ruts or stress or boredom. It's fast, raw and convenient because it's temporary. No one had obligations to the other and on top of that, it's safe. They knew neither of the other would use their delicate situation against each other and really that was one big headache less.

Max goes to comfort Lewis after the Miami GP even though they're only sharing a mainly physically beneficial relationship. Max doesn't care.

"Tell me about it." he says sitting back, his whole weight on Lewis's lap as he tries to catch Lewis's gaze, "Say something, Lewis."
Lewis doesn't move.
"For fuck's sake." Max's jaw tightens and he gets up from his perching place, "Scream. Punch something. Fucking do anything!" he leans down to be on eye level, hands on his knees, "Tell your team to go fuck themselves." he gestures blindly without looking away but the older still doesn't fucking react, "You drove like shit, Lewis, why aren't you angry."

Emotions are high after the Spain GP. One thrives in it and the other breaks beneath it.
