Summary
The Absolute was one of very few beings across all the realms that did not discriminate against any of the races. It mattered not who was infected with a tadpole when all became one under the Absolute, after all. The nautiloid that abducted and infected our story’s heroes did so without any selection criteria whatsoever. A human wizard, an elven vampire spawn, a half-elf Sharran, a githyanki warrior, the Blade of Frontiers, and a tiefling with an infernal engine for a heart…
Song stumbled her way into becoming the leader of this merry band of misfits through sheer, dumb luck. The only problem? The second she awoke in the Hells, she donned the disguise of a perfectly ordinary tiefling. No one in her party suspected that face to be a false one yet, but she knew that she couldn't hide the truth forever.
These people were… Friendly. Friendlier than she was used to, at least. They liked her, trusted her, and Song knew that the easy affection, the laughter and smiles, would all vanish the instant they discovered she was a cambion.
She just wanted to cherish this for a little while longer. Just a little while longer...

Summary
When Dusk awoke aboard a burning ship that smelled of blood and death as heavily as it did smoke and ash, it was without any idea of who they were or how they got there. Even their name was only a vague certainty in the eternal void of their mind. They knew nothing, nothing at all, but killing… They seemed to be good at that. Their blood sang for it, rushed as if it longed to spill on the ground alongside their enemies’, but they needed to keep their blood on the inside, for now. How else were they meant to find and kill whoever did this to them?
They didn’t expect to get attached to the other infected. They didn’t expect to like Lae’zel for more than her ruthless efficiency in battle, to become friends with their fellow amnesiac Shadowheart, or to admire Karlach’s kindness as much as her rage. They didn’t expect to find softness beneath Astarion’s bared fangs and want to protect instead of target it, and they didn’t expect to find themselves listening so intently to Gale’s patient explanations of the world around them. As for Wyll…
Well, Dusk had been a bit in love with him ever since he introduced himself as Blade and killed those goblins so prettily that their heart skipped a beat.
