For a long time, he used this ability simply to have the best kept garden in the Shire, the least mouse infested pantry, and the most beautiful bird song in the mornings. But when Gandalf arrives with plans of a dangerous journey to a far off mountain with a dragon Bilbo is supposed to charm within, Bilbo is less sure he is blessed. More like cursed.
