Summary
While the crowd swells with excited murmurs, Izuku’s gut tightens at the sight before him: a man making his way down the stairs in full kimono, head topped with a cascade of fierce blond hair and spine straight in the relaxed way of a warrior, hand resting with practiced ease on his katana. The glass of his mask shines in the ballroom light, the only element of the whole ensemble that speaks to their current location in Europe, many weeks' journey from their homeland.
Izuku is hit with the sudden, overwhelming desire to know everything about him. A samurai by lineage most certainly, even if their rank no longer exists, and someone whom Izuku has never seen nor met in his years in England.
But he must admit that that is not what has his own blood simmering in desperate curiosity. No, there’s something else, something deeper, that draws him towards this proud, undaunted man who moves like he has no care for the fascinated attention of the entire ballroom while he glides down the steps, above it all.
Izuku and Katsuki meet in the English countryside in 1898.

Suddenly, everything made sense. It was as if the final piece of a puzzle had finally fallen into place.
Izuku didn't remember opening his eyes when he woke up because he had no eyes to open. Izuku didn't feel his breathing accelerate because he had no lungs to breathe with. Izuku didn't feel his heart rate picking up because he had no heart to beat. Izuku didn't feel his brain waking up because he had no brain.
Izuku hadn't felt a single thing since he woke up because he had no means to.
He was separated from his body.
Or: Izuku is transformed into the physical manifestation of his greatest fear; being useless. Thanks to that, he's forced to watch as everything in his life falls apart.

Katsuki watched the shorter green haired man pace around in the dim light of the club’s back room. Izuku was clad only in a pair of small, black, leather shorts that barely covered his ass. His scarred hands fidgeted with the small ivory business card, turning it over in his hands, pausing a moment to read it before turning it back over, as he walked from one end of the room to the other and back again, mumbling to himself. “Are you nervous, Izu?”
Izuku startled at Katsuki’s words. “A little. This is kind of a big thing. And I know it was my idea...”
“That doesn’t matter. You can still back out. There’s no harm in admitting that it’s too much for you.” Katsuki’s tone was serious, but he knew that Izuku would read through to the challenge posted to him.
