Summary
John's jaw ached from grinding his teeth. The tailor Liked Arthur. The measuring process drew on far longer than John felt sure it needed to. Hands and tape measures draped across Arthur's shoulders or running along his inseam. Arthur had looked dashing in the new suit and the trousers hugged his legs in ways that made John glance away, face warming. But John still felt wrong.
“You've been quiet,” Arthur noted as they walked home.
“I'm fine…” They walked in silence for several feet. Finally in a tone that gave away far more than John intended, “The tailor was certainly… friendly.”
“I didn't especially notice.”
“Very attentive,” John grumbled
“John…” Arthur laughed, incredulous, “Are you jealous that you didn't get to measure me?”
