The others brows furrow in response he takes a second to respond, hesitating before responding with “Yeah right” as he rolls his eyes following with, “because that’s so easy to believe.”
Dazai face twitches but makes no change in his facial expression; neutral, calm. Even Chuuya could tell it was a grimace, Dazai continues.
“You don’t have to believe me,” his sentence trailes off as if he was looking for his words. They both know that’s not the real reason why, It’s a calculated move, like it always is.
“I thought maybe I did at one point,” his thumb glides along the outside of his palm, his voice as clear as it is quiet, “But I was wrong.” Chuuya hears him anyway and Dazai takes a breath before continuing.
