Summary
After years of fighting together on the battlefield, Lee Hyunsung finally asks The Queen Of Eden for her daughter’s hand in marriage. Uriel, unimpressed by the man before her and unwilling to give away Jung Heewon, has other plans. She refuses to allow any union between the couple unless Hyunsung can prove his worth and show Uriel that he is on the side of justice. She thus challenges him to pass her seven deadly trials, each one based upon a Seven Deadly Sin.
Hyunsung knows he is in way over his head, but is determined to show his love for Heewon. He accepts Uriel’s challenge and sets out on a suicide quest that has little chance of success.
Along the way, Lee Hyunsung will encounter friend and foe alike in various fairytale scenarios. They will prove to be either an asset or hindrance to his journey, but a true hero always answers the call. It is up to Hyunsung to resolve his friends’ unfinished stories if he ever wishes to bring about his own fairytale ending.

“I thought Yoo Joonghyuk here was sentenced to the dungeons,” Kim Dokja smiled wider, all semblance of politeness going out the window save for outward appearances. He masked his anger in tight smiles and sharp tongues, falling back on old habits with his hurt. As a harried waiter carrying a tray of champagne flutes flitted by, Kim Dokja swiftly traded his empty drink out for a full one. He took a small sip of the bubbling alcohol, not breaking eye contact with Yoo Joonghyuk’s aggressive stare.
Aren’t you grounded? His stare seemed to wryly ask from behind the lip of the glass.
And just who the hell are you? Yoo Joonghyuk’s face tightened minutely.
OR: The inevitable meeting between a reader and his protagonist happened a lot differently, and much farther down the line. Also there's a prophecy unfolding in the background, but it's probably nothing to worry about.
