   The singed ground crunches beneath Diavolo’s feet as he approaches. Lucifer attempts to stand, but tumbles back to the ground. He curses under his breath, ashamed of his weakness. He refuses to look Diavolo in the eye.

   “No, my dear Lucifer,” Diavolo says, offering a hand, “Contrarily, I have come to welcome you to eternal damnation.”
