The 2 people working the bar, Rose and Crowley, were so nice. I'm pretty sure I had the best mulled wine I've ever had in my life there and Crowley gave me a freshly baked shortbread biscuit to go with it, on the house, although he then made me promise not to say he was nice, whoops! To top it off, I'm a book lover and a nerd and there's an antiquarian bookshop right across the street lol - this place spoke to me! The whole area has such a nice vibe!

Response from other staff: I'll forgive you for the four-letter word if you promise to tell Mr. Fell that he has a cute bum when you stop by the bookshop.

“Aren’t they having sex yet?” asked Give Me Coffee or Give Me Death.
The Bookshop drew in a shocked virtual breath as the Bentley repressed a chuckle. Give Me Coffee — shortened privately by the Bookshop to just Give Me, which suited the newly-awoken shop’s rather grasping nature — had not yet learned to filter her curiosity. “Shouldn’t they be having sex?”
”It’s not as simple as that,” said the Bookshop. “And frankly none of your business anyway.”

The Bentley watched the sun come up.
The Sun had reappeared some days ago, of course, warm yellow light again washing over the Bentley and the Bookshop. But it hadn’t really come up, per se, had simply appeared out of the blackness. Now it had come up again, it was morning again, because the Bentley and the Bookshop sat on a street again, in a city called London, in a country called England, on a planet called Earth. Because Aziraphale and Crowley had written it all out that way in the new Book of Life.

We saw the signs for the Oktoberfest at the Snake & Wheel and decided to give it a try and we’re glad we did. What fun and good beer, everyone in cute costumes. We split a bratwurst. The bratwurst was served on a bun with fried onions and house-made mustard. I started with a Lowenbrau followed by a Paulaner. We finished with the best apple strudel we’ve ever had to date, even met the white-haired bar man who said he made the strudel, what a lovely man, such a smile! We ate at the bar, service was excellent and our tall waiter had a great sense of humor, absolutely wicked. We will definitely go again.

The Snake & Wheel is a pub for everyone, the way a pub should be. Great staff and drinks. Even though I live 7 miles away, it feels like my local. But I think this pub must have a ghost! I was there yesterday, Friday night, done up to the nines, had my new satin Jimmy Choo bag on the bar, someone spilled red wine. I saw my bag MOVE. It moved a good foot with no one touching it. Good thing because it would have been ruined else, but it gave me CHILLS!Response from staff: Thank you for your kind words. Best thing for the chills is a hot toddy or a mustard plaster. Ginger tea with honey and lemon works a treat as well.
Response from other staff: The ginger tea works best if you pitch it out the window when no one’s looking and fill the cup up with whisky.
