Summary

The tattooed burglar swung her legs over the balcony railing with confident, graceful movement and turned so that she was facing Caitlyn.
“Thanks again for not shooting me,” she said with a crooked smile.
Caitlyn felt her breath hitch ever so slightly at how handsome this burglar was and prayed that the other woman hadn’t heard it.
“Thanks for potentially saving my dissertation,” she replied.
There was an awkward pause and Caitlyn got the bizarre feeling that the woman didn’t actually want to leave. Caitlyn was surprised that she didn’t want her to leave, either. It lasted only a moment before the stranger lowered herself down partially. She looked up at Caitlyn one more time with a more serious expression.
“You should lock your balcony. The next burglar may not be as nice.”
